The Marine Education Center at Harbor Island Park and the LISoundFest proudly present this special screening and presentation of “Shellshocked” in the community room. All ages welcome.

Hands-on tanks will be available for exploration.

Q&A sessions with our local marine experts.

New movie matinee

“American Hustle”

Learn to play the ancient game of mah jongg

Thursdays, April 24 through May 29 at 11 a.m.

Join mah jongg instructor, Regina Klenosky, and learn to play this ancient game. You’ll not only learn the basics, you will learn various strategies that will help you to play your best and win.

Auditions

The Westchester Sandbox Theatre is holding auditions for its YPT Kids production of “Dr. Dolittle,” a musical that tells the story of a wacky doctor who can talk to the animals. The show is open to all performers in kindergarten through fifth grade and will be directed by artistic director Jason Summers.

Auditions will be held Sunday, April 27, from

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Tuesday, April 29, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Performances will be held from June 6 to June 15.

Five-hour prelicensing class

Formula One Driving School located at 584 Mamaroneck Ave. Mamaroneck has the 5-hour prelicensing class scheduled for Saturday, April 19, at 10 a.m.; Wednesday, April 23, at 4 p.m.; Saturday, April 26, at 10 a.m.

Dance Off the Grid

The Emelin is thrilled to debut its new series Dance Off the Grid. Dance Off the Grid—OTG—is the latest iteration of the critically-acclaimed series Dance Under the Influence, hailed as a must-see “eclectic performance series” by The New Yorker. Curated by renowned dance critic Valerie Gladstone, the series features the top talent of contemporary dance. These showpieces will not only range from ballet to modern to puppetry to everything in between, consisting of only the absolute best from performers at the peak of the profession and the height of their skills; the evenings will also reveal the inspirations behind each work.

Featuring Mark Gindick, Khaleah London, David Parker and the Bang Group, and the Sa Dance Company.

Sure, you get your fill of cleaning up at home, but how often do you have a chance to watch Town Supervisor Nancy Seligson get her hands dirty in the great outdoors? The winter makes a mess of our local environment, but together we can join forces, meet neighbors and feel good about Mamaroneck and ourselves.
