Taste of Harrison tickets for sale
On Friday, May 16, and Saturday, May 17, Friends of the Harrison Public Library will be available with tickets for the “Taste of Harrison” library fundraiser.
“Watercolors without boundaries”
Paintings by Brigitte Loritz at the Harrison Public Library will be on display from May 4 to May 30, with an opening reception on May 10, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Loritz was born and educated in Switzerland. In the U.S., she attended the Parsons School of Design, and studied with prominent watercolorists as Ed Whitney, Jane Carlson, Arne Lindmark and Diane Faxon. Loritz is artist-in-residence for the Port Chester Council for the Arts and teaches in the Port Chester Public Schools in their Arts in Education Program. She is former art director for the American Yacht Club Summer Camp and teaches art activities in several Westchester schools. Loritz’s award-winning watercolors have been exhibited here and abroad, and she is particularly well-known in the community for her paintings of homes and historical sites.
The exhibit may be viewed Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., on Tuesdays, Thursdays through Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. For information contact Connie Perrotta at

Dinner and a concert with
the New Originals
Saturday, May 31, presented by Harrison Public Library and Trattoria Vivolo.

A Taste of Harrison
Sunday, May 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Come discover the fabulous restaurants in downtown Harrison and support our library through this Friends of the Harrison Public Library fundraiser. At your own pace, you may visit all of the restaurants in any order you wish and enjoy a delicious sample of the chef’s
specialties.
A map and wristbands that will let the restaurant know you signed up for this event will be provided. All participating restaurants will have a balloon outside so you will know where to go.
New this year, we are inviting all businesses to participate.
More information will be forthcoming, including the final list of participating restaurants. Currently, almost all the eating places in Harrison will be participating.
There will be ample free parking in the commuter parking lots and thanks to Mayor Belmont, a senior minivan and volunteer driver will be available for those not wishing to walk.
Order your wristbands now. Adult wristbands cost $20 in advance, $25 day of event and wristbands for children under 12 cost $10 in advance, $15 day of event.

Buy a bottle, help a neighbor
On Mother’s Day weekend, from Friday, May 9 to Sunday, May 11, Post Wines and Spirits in Larchmont is donating one dollar to the Larchmont/Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force for every bottle sold.
Mothers and gift buyers are also welcome to sample the wares at free wine tastings on Friday, May 9, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, May 10, from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Post Wines and Spirits is located at 2112 Boston Post Road, at the corner of Larchmont Avenue, in Larchmont.
Mother’s Day weekend hours are Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
The Larchmont/Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force is an all-volunteer coalition of community organizations, houses of worship and concerned citizens dedicated to assisting families living in Larchmont and Mamaroneck who need food. It runs a food pantry that distributes a nutritional bag of groceries providing four days of meals, twice a month.
