Jeffrey Gerson named to Barron’s top 1,200 financial advisors

Morgan Stanley announced Jeffrey Gerson, executive director, senior portfolio management director and wealth advisor in the firm’s Penn Plaza wealth management office, has been named to Barron’s list of America’s “Top 1,200 Advisors: 2014 State-by-State.”

The “Barron’s Top 1,200 Advisors” is a select group of individuals who are screened on a number of criteria. Among factors the survey takes into consideration are assets under management, revenue produced for the firm and quality of service provided to clients.

Local doctor named team podiatrist for

New York Lizards Lacrosse Team

Dr. Josef Geldwert has been named team podiatrist for the New York Lizards Lacrosse Team.

Geldwert is an authority on podiatric surgery and sports medicine. He has written and lectured extensively on the surgical correction of bunions, the management of athletic injuries, the use of orthotic devices and children’s foot disorders.

Geldwert is a graduate of Yeshiva University, received his degree in podiatric medicine with honors from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.

After completing his training, Geldwert opened up his Manhattan practice and taught foot surgery at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He is presently a clinical instructor in the Department of Orthopedics at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and is very active in the foot and ankle surgical residency program at Beth Israel Hospital.

He is board certified in foot and ankle surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Society of Podiatric Surgeons and American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine.

Geldwert has extensive experience in sports medicine. He is the medical director of the New York City Triathlon and Hamptons Marathon. He has served as the co-chief of lower extremities for the New York City Marathon, as the podiatrist for numerous professional tennis tournaments and an expert analyst in sports medicine for Foot and Ankle Quarterly.

Geldwert has also been a member of the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Advisory Committee, a podiatrist for Women’s Cup Soccer and was the podiatric consultant to the N.Y. Power and N.Y. Liberty.

Dr. Geldwert has attending privileges at Mount Sinai Medical Center and Beth Israel Medical Center.
