Well, you’ve made it to part 3 of this year’s gift series. The following list contains holiday gift ideas for the whole family, including the (big) kids in your family as well as your pets! As many items as are featured in these three lists (be sure to take a peek at all three) – you should be able to find that perfect something or at least get some great ideas!

BumFloat

This Bum Float is designed to help keep you upright in the water while leaving your arms free to do things besides fight the life jacket that is strangling you every time you move. Gets really good reviews and can be used by those with limited ambulatory abilities.

Portable Folding Hammock

photo via Amazon

This portable folding hammock fits nicely into an (included) carrying case. Sets up easily and tears down fast. It’s really sized best for small adults or large children, but makes an excellent camping bed.

Brush Hero

photo via Amazon

This little brush cleaner is not only great for general cleaning, it’s great for hard to reach and small (1/2″ or larger) areas. It does require a decent amount of water pressure to work and uses a fair amount of water, so should definitely be used in a an area where watering is needed.

Fire Starter

photo via Amazon

Start fires like a boss with this fire starter mix. Just throw a little of this into wherever you are trying to start a fire and light it. It will sustain the fire until the primary fuel ignites – making fire starting a lot less hassle and a lot more fire.

Outdoor Single Tunnel Inflatable Bubble Tent

photo via Amazon

In case you want to see if the zombies are sneaking up on you while you’re camping, this is just the thing. This inflatable clear camping bubble would also be pretty awesome for staring up at the sky at night and star-gazing.

3-in-1 Maternity Polar Fleece Hoodie

photo via Amazon

This 3 in 1 hoodie is designed to be worn before, during, and after pregnancy.  According to the seller it has two removable inserts. One of them is for carrying your baby, one is for when the wearer is pregnant, and when neither of the inserts is attached the jacket functions as a normal polar fleece jacket.  (Please note a baby sling is still required to carry a baby with this jacket.)

Defense Tool

photo via Amazon

This self defense tool shaped like a cat is meant to be attached to your key chain, so it’s always handy. When you’re not defending yourself with it, you can admire it and think to yourself, “my sweet kitty cat kills”.

Telescope

photo via Amazon

If you live way out in the country like we do, a telescope like this Celestron model is just an awesome item to have. Give one as a gift to yourself this year.  We go out several evenings a year to watch the meteor showers, look at Saturn’s rings, or see if we can detect anyone walking around on the moon ; ) . And, if you want to get great shots of what you’re looking at through your telescope to view later, it’s easy to take great photos with your smart phone with this super reasonably priced phone mount that works with telescopes or binoculars.

Drone For The First Time Owner

photo via Amazon

Drones are not just fun to play with, they teach important skills. While navigating a drone a child is advancing their motor skills and hand-to-eye coordination. An entry level drone can be a great way for a child to get their brain to coordinate between both hands and their eyes at the same time. They are also just plain fun to fly around and see stuff from the air. While larger drones require them to be registered with the FAA, smaller ones, usually known as “nanos” are light enough they require no registration. It’s different from drone to drone, based on weight, so be sure to shop for a light model if you have no interest in being a registered drone pilot!

Drone For The Seasoned Enthusiast

photo via Amazon

If you’ve already owned (also known as “crashed”) a drone or two and are ready to move up, this Phantom 4 model from DJI is always ranked in the top 3-5 drones. Don’t freak out when you see the price, as this particular drone package comes with all the bells and whistles.  You can also buy just the Phantom 3 drone (one model older and a few less features) for much less.

Virtual Reality (VR) Headset

Kids are going to be obsessed with the internet.  That’s kind of their job – to want to do things we don’t want them to do. Make it an awesome experience for them with a VR Headset. The headset is really reasonably priced (around $20) and is meant to be used with most smart phones. There are lots of existing (and free) virtual reality “shows” for them to enjoy and maybe you could start them on their way to creating their own virtual reality applications.

Dog Selfie Stick

Most people that have dogs know that taking great photos of them is “iffy” at best.  Their attention span is seldom long enough to get a good photo because there’s always something SO interesting for them to look at.  The grass, the air, the neighbors cars. But not anymore! Take great pet pix with the help of this selfie device.

Chicken Pet Stroller

There are good reasons to have one of these. An animal that is old or injured or too small to defend itself should still get to go out for some air. The best reason to get one of these pet strollers is so, while you’re strolling in the park, people will come over to see if you have a child trapped in this…  Oh. So that’s just my sense of humor?

Pet Audio & Video System

photo via Amazon

These are a bit pricey, but still a reasonable amount of money to help alleviate the guilt that some pet owners feel when their pet is home alone all day.  With one of these pet video cams, you can talk to them and some of them will even let you give your doggie a treat!

Dog Pack

This doggie pack is another good way to take your small puppy or even a (docile) cat around with you. Pack them with you wherever you go.

Dog Water Fountain

photo via Amazon

It’s just a fact of life. Ninety-nine percent of dogs love water – at least when a bath is not involved. Give them something to get excited about with a doggie drinking fountain.

Chicken Coop

photo via Amazon

Lots of people start to build chicken coops, then they realize the amount of work that goes into one.  Have a place for chickens in just a few minutes of assembly with a ready-made coop.

Chicken Diapers

It’s surprising how many people consider their chicken as their pet. Now you can invite Henrietta Hen into the house without worrying about a huge mess with one of these chicken diapers.

“Wicked Chickens Lay Deviled Eggs” Sign

photo via Amazon

Lots of people are artsy and can look at something like this, go to their craft room and reproduce it in an hour or two.  Then, there are the rest of us. Or maybe you can make anything, but with the holidays coming fast, you just don’t have time to make everything.  Here’s an opportunity to let someone else do the work for you while you just order this deviled eggs sign.

Dog Washing Station

Not sure exactly how well this doggie wash would actually work, but the concept is pretty cool.  Maybe they sell a larger version for a car?

Highwave AutoDogMug

Just give this AutoDogMug a squeeze and the bowl fills up for a quick drink for Rover – or “Phil” if you tend to name your animals with human names.

Fence Window for Pets

photo via Amazon

You can make one of these fence windows for your curious dogs from the window out of an an older washer door or buy one of these ready-made ones. Your dog will love being able to use both eyes to see what’s going on in the neighborhood – instead of peeking through between the fence boards! It would also look awesome to paint a picture of an astronaut on the outside of the fence…

ThunderShirt For Dogs

photo via Amazon

Our dog sitter swears by these compression vests for nervous dogs – and cats. Apparently, there is some nerve bundle that, when compressed, has a calming effect on animals. Just look up Ragdoll cats. When you pick one of these cats up with a hand under the stomach, they go completely limp (hence “ragdoll”) because that breed has an over-active bundle of these nerves, so the science is there for these to work.

Chicken Swing

photo via Amazon

Before we got chickens, I didn’t even know they could jump, let alone swing. Some of the chickens seem to love this chicken swing and a few look at it with suspicion. Well, as suspicious a look as a chicken can give.

Trampoline

Even if you have much of the building materials, a chicken coop can be expensive to build. If you can find one of these trampolines (or even buy one), it can serve double-duty by entertaining the family and corralling the chickens.

Chicken Harness

photo via Amazon

Combine this chicken harness with a chicken diaper and take your chickens for a walk almost anywhere. And when you do, everyone will be totally amazed and your chicken will soon be a star!

Wall Decal For Dog Lovers

Ninety five percent of people that own dogs consider them an integral part of the family. Maybe your favorite dog owner (you?) has the perfect place for this wall decal that reminds them of that beloved family member.
