Dot kolam designs can change the way you draw kolams and rangolis. Kolams are traditional art forms that have been practised in India from ancient times. They are made during festivals like Ugadi, Diwali, Dussehra, Pongal, Holi, Sankranti, and Ganesh Chaturthi.

Make 7-1 parallel dots for this kolam design. Make 7 dots in the centre, and then add 5, then 3 and 1. Finish the kolam by joining the dots as shown.

Start from the top; make two lines of 5 parallel dots. In the following lines, keep increasing one dot on either side. The last two lines will have 17 dots each. Join the dots to create this lovely peacocks perched on Lotus. Fill it with color.

This kolam design is made up of 15-8 interlaced dots. The centre has 15 dots. Leave one dot on each side and draw more lines. Stop at 8.

Make the first flower in the centre; draw the rest as shown. Thicken the lines, and then fill it with color.

You can make this divine lord Shiva kolam within minutes using our dot tutorial. Make four lines with 12 parallel dots each. Now add more lines on each end. Leave one dot on either side while adding a new line. Stop at 4 dots; make thick line and fill your kolam with color.

Make vertical interlaced dots of 13-7. Start with 13 dots in the centre and stop at 7. Join the dots to create flower, star and diyas. This is a perfect rangoli design for festivals. Erase the extra dots and fill it up with color.

Make 13-7 interlaced dots. Start with 13 dots in the centre and stop at 7 dots. Join them as shown in the picture above. Make thick lines and fill the pattern with bright, vibrant colors.
