In our kitchen, there are few things we can’t do without and one of them is Le Creuset cookware (we could wax poetic about Le Creuset’s Dutch Oven, but we’ll spare you our romance-driven monologue for now). The brand trusted by professional chefs and avid home cooks, Le Creuset cookware is durable, easy to cook with, and attractive, making it Homemade Recipe’s Item of the Week.  Read on to learn why we love this product so much!

Item of the Week: Le Creuset Cookware

The first step to making delicious homemade meals is having the right tools and us folks at Homemade Recipes know all about the “right tools.” So when we had the idea of writing an Item of the Week post we knew that the first item we had to feature was Le Creuset. The Le Creuset Cookware Company was established in 1925 by Armand Desaegher and Octave Aubecq with it’s sole mission being to create durable enamel cast iron cookware.

Le Creuset is the number one brand amongst chefs and cooks for several reasons:

It’s durable. If properly cared for, Le Creuset cookware can last decades, making it possible for your great grand kids to cook with the same tools you did!

Le Creuset cookware has a perfectly flat bottom ensuring even heating on any cook top surface (ceramic, glass, or electric).

It’s easy to clean. The enamel coating, which is also scratch-resistant, keeps food from sticking to its surfaces, reducing your scrubbing time by 100%. Woo!

Le Creuset knobs can heat up to 450 degrees without burning you!

The enamel also makes flavor and odor absorption a non-existent issue! So, now your bread can smell like bread and not like last week’s garlic seafood pasta (*shakes head* because we’ve all been there).

The colors! Le Creuset consistently sets the bar for beautiful cookware by releasing cookware in every color of the visible spectrum. So now you can buy cookware that matches your neon orange kitchen towels.

Le Creuset cookware is durable, beautiful, and makes cooking a breeze. For many, however, the main drawback is the price, which, admittedly, can be a bit steep. But, when buying cookware, it’s important to note that every cookware item you purchase is an investment that’s supposed to last a very long time. So, while the initial price may be a bit heavy, you really will end up saving in the long run as the need to constantly repurchase cookware dwindles with these bad boys in your cupboard. And if you’ve never cooked with Le Creuset before and still can’t justify buying cookware that expensive, we suggest buying one item, seeing how you like it, and then going from there.

While we usually hesitate to say that cookware changes our lives (because it’s ultimately about what you make versus what you buy), we would be willing to shout out from the peak of every mountain in the world that Le Creuset is amazing and we would probably (albeit, a little hyperbolic-ally) be nothing without them.
