The only pet my grandfather had when he was a child was a goat. No cat, no dog. A goat! He was about six years old and during the year that he owned him, he grew a ton. In the beginning, he could latch the goat to his overalls with a rope and all was good. Eventually, the goat got so big that he took my grandfather for a ride; face first into the ground and drug him down the road. Not surprisingly, one day the goat just disappeared. He has no idea what happened to it but I have a feeling cabrito (roasted goat) was on the menu.

It was not until my mother was nearing her high school graduation that he got a dog. They had just come back from South America and were finally here to stay in the US. My grandfather was in the military so previously they had traveled all over the place. After being back for about a month, one of my mom’s aunt’s dogs had a litter. A litter of three pups. They were named Meeny, Miny, and Moe.

Moe became their family dog. This dog was wild. You had to carefully watch him anytime you opened a door or gate, otherwise, he would bolt. You would then have to search for him around the neighborhood. Sometimes he would be gone for days. Funny thing is that his siblings, Meeny and Miny, were well behaved. You could tell them to stay and they actually would. Not Moe, though. He had a mission to escape and often accomplished it. He lived well into his teens and was beloved by my grandparents. They never owned a dog again.

By the time Moe passed away, my grandparents were near 70 and having another pet was out of the question. Owning a pet takes a lot of time, money, and commitment that they just couldn’t deal with for another 15+ years. It’s a lot of responsibility!

My grandfather is now nearing 91 years old and lives with me. Many of my fondest childhood memories include him. I was always eager to spend time with him and him with me. He’s the best grandpa in the world!

Nowadays, I’m busy with a family of my own and deadlines to meet. I’m not always able to spend that quality time with him that he deserves. I am so glad I was introduced to HASBRO’S JOY FOR ALL™ Companion Pets!

Hasbro is well known and beloved for their toys and games. If you say Hasbro most people (even children) know exactly what you are talking about. Being one of the largest toy makers in the world, they know a thing or two about bringing happiness and fun to people of all ages – even the elderly. It can be hard for seniors to reap the benefits (reduced stress, lower blood pressure, increased social interaction and physical activity) of pet ownership which is a complete shame.

HASBRO’S JOY FOR ALL™ Companion Pet Pup

Our elders deserve to experience the delight, laughter, and companionship that pets can give. HASBRO’S JOY FOR ALL™ Companion Pets do just that. They sure did make my grandfather smile!

Hasbro’s Joy For All Companion Pet Pup is super soft and feels like a real dog. Just like a real dog, the pup will respond to your voice with an adorable pup-like bark and look right at you when you talk to it. Playing with the pup, allowed my grandfather to reminisce about the good ole days with Moe. It was a great memory refresher for him!

The pup’s built in  BarkBack™ technology and multiple sensors give you life-like interactions that you know and love. Petting, hugging, and even just being in the same room as this pup will make you feel like a real dog is there (without the maintenance). He even moves his tail and opens and shuts his eyes. While the Joy For All Companion Pet Cats can even purr, roll on their back, and simulate licking their paws!

Unlike a real pup or cat these pets can be muted or powered off if you are in need of some quiet time. At the click of a button, though, they are instantly back bringing you the fun, joy, and companionship you crave. Or if you leave them alone for a while they will go to sleep!
