We are excited today to bring you the newest real estate listings for sale in the Coastal Heights neighborhood of Conway,  SC. Located in Horry County along the Waccamaw River, Conway is the county seat and is part of the Myrtle Beach area.  Many of the buildings in Conway are on the National Register of Historic Places because it is one of the oldest cities in South Carolina.  Included among these historic places is the City Hall building, which was reputedly designed by Robert Mills.  Conway also played a part in the American Revolution, and small battles were fought near Kingston at Black Lake and Bear Bluff.  In fact,  the famous Francis Marion, or "Swamp Fox,"  had a camp near Kingston just acroww the Waccamaw River.  The name of the city was originally "Conwayborough" for General Robert Conway, but was changed in 1883 to Conway.

Conway may be a small town of just over 11,000 residents, but there are plenty of things to do to keep your family entertained year round.  For the golfer, Witch Links has been rated as one of the top activities in Conway.  Reviewers on TripAdvisor.com found the course to be challenging with the occasional interesting obstacle in the form of the local wildlife, an alligator!  Well-manicured greens and a friendly staff make an afternoon of golf at Witch Links a memorable and enjoyable experience.  In addition to golf, Conway offers other entertainment, including live theatre at Main Street Theatre.  There, you can see such classics as M. Butterfly for a bargain price compared to the big-city theatres.  Are you interested in historic sites? Take a tour of the L.W. Paul Living History Farm and get a glimpse of farm life in the early 1900s.  The family also sells a variety of wares, including handmade jams and jellies.  For a more modern experience, the downtown area has been revitalized and is dotted with bistros and boutiques for you to peruse.  The crowning glory of downtown is the Riverwalk, an area of fine dining that stretches along the Waccamaw River.

The Grand Strand

Living in Conway gives you access to the whole Grand Strand area, including the excitement and amenities of Myrtle Beach. A resort destination, Myrtle Beach is built for both tourists and local residents, with plenty of entertainment and all the every day basics you will need.

To start, Myrtle Beach has some of the most temperate weather you will find anywhere.  The mild winters don't require a parka, and snow is simply unheard of in the area.  In the summer, the heat will send you to the glittering beaches where you can sunbathe and relax to the sounds of the Atlantic.  For the kids, there are several nearby shops where you can rent water accessories, from surfboards to jet skis, and spend the afternoon playing in the ocean.  And don't forget to bring your camera because the sunsets on the beach are postcard perfect!

Myrtle Beach has a lot to do besides relax at the beach.  For the golfer of the family, this area is home to over 100 golf courses.  In fact, you could golf every weekend for a year and not repeat the same course twice! If you are looking to improve your game, there are several championship courses that will test your skills.  So, don't forget to pack your clubs when you come to The Grand Strand.

Shopping is also one of Myrtle Beach's specialties.  Shopaholics can spend the day browsing for bargains at Tanger outlet center, where you can find popular brand names at prices that won't empty your wallet.  If you like a more intimate environment, there are numerous boutiques as well.  Here, you can find unique gifts and collectibles, as well as handmade items and custom clothing.  Of course, for the tourist in all of us, Myrtle Beach is no stranger to kitsch.  There are seashell necklaces, goofy t-shirts, coffee mugs, and all sorts of souvenir items available everywhere you look.  So, no matter what you're searching for, you are sure to find it right here.

Known for its nightlife scene, Myrtle Beach has plenty of places to go for live entertainment.  Barefoot Landing is home to The Alabama Theatre, where you can find live music including such acts as George Jones and The Oak Ridge Boys. In addition, numerous restaurants host live music acts throughout the week.  Many of the acts are local musicians, though some come in from other cities.  All music genres are represented here in Myrtle Beach, all you have to do is look around.  Live theatre is also available in the area.  Whatever your style, an evening of dinner and a show awaits you in our beautiful city.

Beyond the amenities, Myrtle Beach offers some of the best views on the coast. Bring your camera because this area has two state parks, over 60 miles of beaches, wildlife of every color and size, and sunsets that will take your breath away.  You can always escape the hustle and bustle of the city life and relax in the quiet of nature.  The Grand Strand offers the best of both worlds, and that's one of the reasons we love living here.

Tourism is a strong contributer to the economy here.  The coast is dotted with a plethora of resorts that keep many locals gainfully employed in the food service, retail, and hospitality industries.  With an unemployment rate that is slightly lower than the national average, work is easier to find here for those who are willing. With that in mind, it is no mystery why many people choose this area as their permanent home.

If you are looking for a home in the area, Myrtle Beach has a wide variety of properties available.  Here, you will find cozy beachfront cottages, traditional-style homes, and even luxury high-rise condos.  Vacation condos are a large industry here as well, and many people start with a vacation home and end up becoming permanent residents.  For those looking for a family home, you have many neighborhoods to choose from, each with its own amenities.  Many times, these communities offer their residents access to a pool, basketball courts, and club houses.  Some of the more upscale neighborhoods even offer Intracoastal access!  Community living in Myrtle Beach is unlike any other city.  We hope you will take a look at Coastal Heights, as well as browse the other area neighborhoods on our website.  There is a neighborhood for everyone in Myrtle Beach and we can't wait to help you find yours.
