Enjoy a beer where your dog is actually treated like man’s best friend. At these breweries, you can bring your pup anywhere your pint is—indoors and out.

Faction // Alameda, CA

Dogs and their humans enjoy stunning views of San Francisco from the tasting room and patio at Faction. They participate in shelter events through Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter and attends Pints for Paws. Delicious Bootleg Dog Biscuits are available.

Bring your dog to Monkish to meet the assistant brewer’s Pug/Jack Russell Terrier, Claire. Visiting pooches love to sit by the roll-up door for fresh air.

Triple Voodoo // San Francisco, CA

Triple Voodoo collaborates with Pawtrero BathHouse and Feed Co. on Pints and Paws by donating $1 per pint to a dog rescue quarterly. Next Pints and Paws is September 6. Spent-grain treats also available.

Iron Fist // Vista, CA

Iron Fist throws fundraisers for a variety of animal charities, including the Humane Society. Have a pint in memory of their late brew dog, Lilly.

Visiting dogs receive a sample Doggie Beer Bone, a locally-made spent-grain treat. If your pup has had one too many beers, there’s a small outside grass area dedicated as the doggy toilet (poop bags provided gratis). Throughout the year they donate a portion of their proceeds to animal rescues such as the Southern California Dachshund Relief.

AleSmith // San Diego, CA

Every Halloween, AleSmith holds a dog costume contest. Try beating their brew dog, Daisy, who likes the taste of the Nut Brown Ale. They’ve participated in many dog rescue charities, including Pints for Pits. The brewery also supports the annual Unleashed Surfdog Competition in Imperial Beach.

New Belgium // Fort Collins, CO

New Belgium names beers after their own beloved pups. Look for Mighty Arrow Pale Ale, named for the founder’s late border collie. Sometimes they have spent-grain treats for your best friend too.

Laughing Dog takes the pint glass and the water bowl seriously. They provide private ones to avoid the spread of illness. A few times per year, they hold “Yappy Hour,” a fundraiser for the local no-kill shelter.

Postdoc // Redmond, WA

Postdoc gives The Brewmaster’s Bakery spent-grain to make their dog treats. Each month the brewery holds a social media campaign for “Postdoc Pup of the Month,” in which patrons tag a photo of their dog @PostdocBrewing under #PostdocPup on Instagram.

Tin Dog // Seattle, WA

Did someone say doggy birthday party? Tin Dog hosts them, complete with canine ice cream cake. They also keep the occasional toys to give away behind the bar. If your dog barks or gets a tad feisty, they don’t mind. It’s a dog brewery, after all.
