**Service Technical Training Manager (Job Number: 170033)**
**Description**
**Summary of Duties and Responsibilities**
+ Manage technical training staff which would include all training schedules, curriculums and new program development.
+ Manager of the field service apprentice program to include at a minimum but not limited to: new hire orientation, travel schedules, introduction to travel department, information technology and corporate training programs.
+ Periodic weekend and/or after-hours availability required.
+ Maintain proficiency and technical competence among all training courses including the apprentice program.
+ Provide competency and skill level feedback on apprentices attending training to the Director of Digital Imaging Technical Support.
+ Help develop and revise, modify, and improve existing training curriculum based on feedback or product changes and enhancements.
+ Lead the development and if needed help deliver advanced product training courses to Hologic field engineers, dealers and support personnel.
+ Manage the documentation process to enhance product procedures, and technical manuals.
+ Occasional travel necessary for off-site training and for personal training experience.
+ Other duties as requested by learning & development or service management.
**Qualifications**
+ Requires considerable interpretation, independent judgment and extensive knowledge of product applications and staff skill levels in order to handle varied situations.
+ Proven leadership ability that ensures a teamwork approach to problem solving both with customers and field based personnel.
+ Experience, and/or willingness to learn fundamental adult learning and instructional design principles
+ Ability to effectively communicate issues and recommendations throughout all levels of the company is mandatory
+ Demonstrated, thorough problem solving ability, with attention to detail and follow-up required
+ Requires strong analytical competency and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Work environment demands creativity and innovation.
+ Ability to multi-task, in a fast paced interrupt driven environment, and handle multiple concurrent priorities is mandatory.
+ Leadership, delegation, planning and decision-making ability is required.
+ Significant mediation skills, and ability to instill a teamwork attitude, are required when interacting directly with staff members.Education
+ BA/BS degree in computer science, or a related medical/technical discipline, or an equivalent blend of education and experienceExperience
+ A minimum of 4 years related job experience is required in a technical training role.
+ Should have experience with managing an organization that is responsible for providing end user customers field service support
**Specialized Knowledge**
+ Working knowledge of x-ray equipment, and networked computer based systems.
+ Familiarity with products with remote diagnostic capabilities is preferred. Knowledge of PACS system fundamentals is desirable.
