Aww shmoopy shmoo! One of the top reasons we follow stars like Taylor and Khloe on Instagram is to see their ridiculously adorable pets — but there can only be one favorite. So with 2013 winding down, help us decide which pet is THE cutest of the year.
If we could take in every single celebrity pet, we would. But here’s the thing: We really only have the room — and the budget — to kidnap one adorable puppy or kitty this year. So when it comes down to Khloe Kardashian‘s pup or say, Ian Somerhalder‘s cat, who will we choose? (DISCLAIMER: We promise we aren’t actually going to kidnap anybody’s pet. It’s a metaphor, guys.)

Let’s start with the cutest kitty cats of 2013. Just a note, we’re listing them in order from least favorite to most:
3. Brian (Owner: Chris Colfer)
We’ll admit that we are suckers for pets with normal human names, so that really just elevates our opinion of Chris Colfer’s kitty, who definitely lands in the roly-poly category for felines. But is he cuter than…
2. Moke (Owner: Ian Somerhalder)
Ian is a true animal lover, so he knows how to pick ‘em. He couldn’t have done a better job by picking Moke, a beautiful orange tabby who looks like he’s got more bark than most dogs.
1. Meredith (Owner: Taylor Swift)
Tay Tay’s cat looks like it’ll never grow past its kitten phase. Because of that, how it seems like Taylor and Meredith are 80-year-olds who have been married for over 50 years, and that whole pets-with-human-names thing we mentioned before, Meredith has to be our favorite cat of the year.

5. Pearl (Owner: Lea Michele)
Because of Boo the Dog, the mini pomeranian was definitely the breed of 2013. And Pearl is so freaking cute and funny and small! We could jump on a trampoline with this dog for hours — don’t ask us why.
4. Toulouse (Owner: Ariana Grande)
Once you get over the fact that Ariana named her dog after a southwestern French city, you can focus on how ridiculously handsome he is.
3. Colin (Owner: Harry Styles)
Oh. My. God. OMG OMG OMG 1D Puppy OMG. That is all.
2. Bernard (Owner: Khloe Kardashian)
Khloe officially became our favorite Kardashian on Mar. 13, 2013. That is the day she and Lamar Odom adopted Bernard, the cutest wittle boxer we have ever laid eyes on.
1. Blu (Owner: Kendall Jenner)
Khloe’s puppy was only outdone this year by one dog — her half-sister Kendall’s new pup, Blu. The Great Dane puppy is perfect. Look at those eyes, that beautiful coat, those humorously large paws! Awwwww!
