Kendall Jenner — you’re a stunningly gorgeous young woman, who wants to model. But you just turned 18 — you don’t have to exploit your beautiful body in Instagram pics to have a successful career.

Kendall Jenner, you just took to Instagram to post a photo of yourself braless in a see-through net top, revealing your breasts and nipples for the world to see. You also tweeted a photo of your shapely and half-bare butt during a photo shoot with renowned fashion photographer Russell James earlier today on Nov. 19.

Take Our Poll

Kendall, I’m sure you’re very excited about doing an arty and striking fashion shoot in New York City with one of the world’s top fashion photographers. We know that you’ve been wanting a career as a model for the last couple of years — anybody who watches your reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, knows that. And you can have that — you can become a top model. There’s no question that you’ve got the physical attributes and the willingness to work. But that doesn’t mean that you have to immediately, and at a very young age, expose all of your body to the camera.

Is it really necessary for you to sell fashion this way? I think that you have the power to decide how much you want to take your clothes off. I bet you will still be booked for fabulous modeling assignments without having to reveal your breasts and nipples — at least not when you’re 18.

You may think you’re all grown up because you’ve reached the legal age, but at 18, you’re still very young. And you’re still trying to have normal friendships and a normal dating life. Do you really want every guy your age who you meet to have easy access to your nudity on Instagram and Twitter? You’re sending out a message about your sexuality that could be very misinterpreted by guys you might go out with who, let’s just say, are at a very horny age.

You’re also exposing yourself to kooks at a very early age — stalkers and overzealous fans who may get the wrong idea about you because of your suggestive photography poses. Is that something you really want to deal with, or should have to deal with, when you’re just 18 years old? These photos go out to billions of people — far more than the number of people who would have seen an arty shoot in a top fashion magazine. Tweeting and Instagramming opens you up to the universe. I’m not sure you’re thinking about that when you post these pictures.

Kendall Jenner — You Can Have A Modeling Career Without Taking Your Clothes Off

I know that your sister Kim Kardashian regularly takes very sexy selfies and poses for high-fashion photo shoots, and just today appeared topless in fiance Kanye West‘s video for “Bound 2.” But at this point, she’s 33. She’s almost twice your age. And I would argue that she’s better able to handle the blowback that can come from this kind of public exposure of your sexuality.

Kendall, I know you think that modeling is a glamorous life, but even the very top models in the world will tell you that there are plenty of non-glamorous aspects to modeling: the constant travel and the time away from home and your loved ones, the long hours, the men you’ll meet who will be hitting on you, the fact that you won’t be going to college for at least the conceivable future. These can all be major downsides. You may find yourself traveling alone to shoots, and at 18, are you really prepared for the exposure to men who have seen these pictures? How protected are you going to be now that you’ve put yourself out there in this way?

I’m surprised that your mother, Kris Jenner, really let you go this far when you’re so young. And Kendall, does your father, Bruce Jenner, really want you to do this? Is he really comfortable with his little girl showing herself off like this? Your dad has been around a lot longer than you and if he doesn’t approve of this, I really think you should listen to his reasons.

Now that you’ve already exposed your nipples, you need to consider what you’re going to be asked to do next. Full nudity? I hope not. You need to have more regard for yourself and your body and feel confident enough to know that you don’t need to do this.

You’re not just a beautiful girl, you’re a bright girl, who can use her brain as well as her body to find success in life. So cover up, Kendall!

Do you agree, HollywoodLifers? Has Kendall gone to far? Let me know.
