Table Mountain, Cape Town

Table Mountain is exactly as the name suggests; a mountain with a flat top, that overlooks the beautiful Cape Town. You can take a cable car to the top of the mountain and enjoy panoramic views of the city, or if you’re a bit more active, you could hike to the top and then enjoy a refreshing beverage at the Table Cafe! The hike will be worth it once you see the views, plus the sea breeze should cool you down after your long trek. There are loads of gorgeous places you can stay near Cape Town, but you can’t get much better than a luxury holiday villa. Take a look at Driftwood holiday villa in Camps Bay to see what you think!

The Cape Peninsula, Cape Town

Again, for the more adventurous among us, Cape Peninsula is the perfect place to go. You won’t believe the unspoiled nature – it’s something you won’t be able to enjoy much in your lifetime! Make sure you take your camera, and when you’re done taking in the views here take a short trip to Boulders Beach and marvel at the colony of 3000 African penguins!

Robben Island, Cape Town

This is a UNESCO world heritage site, mainly famous for being the place South Africa’s political prisoners were held in the Apartheid era. It’s got an interesting, vast history – it’s also been home to a leper colony, mental hospital, and a defense training base! Robben island is a big tourist attraction, as you can actually walk through the maximum security wing where people like Nelson Mandela were locked up. However, the best part is that former political prisoners are the ones giving you the guided tour – so you’re learning first hand from them!

The Garden Route, Oudtshoorn

The Garden Route is an amazing place to take a walk through, with a total of 10 nature reserves and plenty of marine reserves. On your walk, you’ll be able to spot 300 different types of bird, coral reefs, dolphins, seals, and plenty of other majestic creatures.

The Kruger National Park, Phalaborwa

This is the largest reserve in South Africa, and another great place for nature lovers out there. You’ll be amazed at the different kinds of trees, plants, animals, sea life – there’s just so much to see all in one place!

Knysna

This is the place to go in South Africa if you’re looking to relax and have fun. Not only is it renowned for it’s delicious culinary delights, people come from all over to take part in watersports. Wave Jumping on the lagoon is something you should definitely try!
