MILWAUKEE, WI—Aptly suited for the original hometown of the Miller Brewing Company, now part of MillerCoors, a brand new Miller Brewhouse has opened its doors to the public in General Mitchell International Airport. The Brewhouse, brought to Milwaukee travelers by HMSHost, the airport, and MillerCoors, features a unique menu designed from scratch which features high-end Wisconsin products like Usinger’s Famous Sausage, a mouth-watering meat carvery section, and of course a well-balanced beer list. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held today to celebrate the new opening.

“The new Miller Brewhouse is a great option for Mitchell Airport travelers to enjoy locally-inspired food and beverages,” Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele said. “This stunning renovation, which comes at no cost to local property tax payers, will leave a lasting impact on travelers for many years to come.”

The new Miller Brewhouse is a total revamp of the restaurant, specifically located pre-security in the Main Terminal, between the entrances of Concourses D and E. The restaurant space incorporates distinctive MillerCoors brewing heritage into the overall design, and features relaxed terrace seating where travelers can enjoy dining from the forward-looking menu.

“We are proud of our Milwaukee roots dating back to 1855 and the role we continue to play in Milwaukee’s brewing heritage. We appreciate the opportunity to work with HMSHost and General Mitchell International on this great addition to the airport and are thrilled to give travelers a taste of Milwaukee and MillerCoors as they travel to, from or through General Mitchell,” said Jim Wright, Wisconsin General Manager of Sales for MillerCoors.

The Miller Brewhouse menu is the first full menu to be developed by HMSHost’s recently reorganized culinary team, led by HMSHost Corporate Chef and Vice President of Culinary Jeff Steelman. It is reflective of the culinary-driven direction that HMSHost has pioneered over recent years as the company continues to evolve trends in airport dining. For example, all cheeses, sausage, breads and meats are either local or Wisconsin based, while all sauces, dips and dressings are created from scratch.

The carvery section features completely customizable sandwiches made with a selection of five high quality, daily roasted meats such as prime beef, roasted turkey, and griddled meatloaf. Other signature menu items include appetizers like the Hennings local cheese plate and fried cheese curds; main dishes such as the lake perch fish fry, the Wisconsin butter bacon cheeseburger, or the spinach and artichoke grilled cheese sandwich. Naturally, many great beers are featured on tap, including Miller Lite, Leinenkugel’s Red Lager, and Batch 19 Pre-Prohibition Style Lager.

“Milwaukee is a crucial part of American brewing history. It is where Miller opened its first brewery, and we could not be more excited about partnering with MillerCoors on opening a Miller restaurant in Mitchell Airport,” said HMSHost Senior Director of Business Development Bryan Loden. “With Miller Brewhouse, travelers will not only find delicious, healthy, locally-inspired and sourced food and drinks, but a comfortable dining space in which to relax.”
