Scott Helmer is a master of reinvention and like his music – an inspiration. His contagious, radio-friendly blend of rock and pop infuses memorable guitar riffs, catchy sing-along choruses and lyrics that tell real stories of love, pain and starting over. These songs, co-written and recorded with his talented photographer/musician brother, Rich Helmer, have also crossed over to fans of Country & Americana, where solid songwriting and storytelling are so highly valued. Scott Helmer has opened up for legendary acts like Heart, Eddie Money, 3 Doors Down and Big Country.
All proceeds will go towards to Tahoe Dream Foundation which is a non-profit organization that supports our local Child Care Centers and provides clothing, shoes, school supplies, and some household items and furnishings to families and children in need. Tahoe Dream Foundation will use the money raised for their Child Care Center Funding Program, which provides supplies, new equipment, furniture, books, materials, toys, and more to the Child Care Centers signed up with their program, for their Clothing, Shoes, and School Supplies Program, which provides clothing, shoes, and school supplies to children in need in our community, and for their Household Items and Furnishings Program, which provides some household items and furnishings to families and children in need in our community.
Also Tahoe Dream Foundation is going to be raising money to help one of our local business owners who was the victim of assault and battery on January 19, 2014. Jerry Morey, the owner of Tahoe Lakeside Lodge aka Tahoe Cottage Inn Motel in South Lake Tahoe, California has suffered great losses due to one of his tenants knocking him unconscious, fracturing a part of his spine, giving him a laceration and hematoma above his right eye that he had to get stitched up, making him lose 25% of his eye sight, giving him a concussion, and costing him over ,000 in medical bills, lost income, and damages caused by his tenant. So part of all proceeds will be to help Jerry Morey pay for some of the expenses that he has to pay due to this incident. Tahoe Dream Foundation has also started a petition to help Jerry Morey have justice served and to help make sure the man responsible for the assault and battery, Mark Supica, is charged and arrested for Battery and Elder Abuse and that Jerry Morey will be compensated for all medical costs, lost income, and damages due to the incident. For more information on the story please go to justiceforjerry.blogspot.com or to sign the petition to help get Justice for Jerry Morey go to http://www.change.org/petitions/justice-for-jerry-morey# and type in your name and information to sign the petition online.
