Welcome!
We’re thrilled to invite you to the Greater Bangor Real Estate, Housing & Land Use Conference and Trade Show, being held at the new Cross Insurance Conference Center – in the Grand Ballroom – on October 31st & November 1st, 2013.
During the day on Thursday, you can attend Pre-Conference Seminars offered in three separate tracks: a CEU track for Realtors, the Business of Landlording track for investors, and tracks for Professionals (housing inspectors, surveyors, etc) and Engineers, all with CEUs as possible.
Thursday evening’s Opening Reception will feature musical and other entertainment, a great keynote speaker with a fascinating topic, an extensive buffet, cash bar, networking & fun games, and specials from our trade show vendors.
On Friday, we’ll offer 45-90 minute seminars all day, along with the trade show, which will be free and open to the public.
The show will be a great opportunity for sponsors, exhibitors, advertisers and workshop presenters from the following disciplines:
… mortgage brokers, appraisers, bankers, title attorneys, housing inspectors, insurance agents, REALTORs®
… plumbers, electricians, kitchen & bath contractors, pest control agents, movers, flooring & window treatment professionals, landscapers, accountants, lawyers
… property managers, real estate investment groups
… private investors & money lenders
… community development programs, abatement & code enforcement professionals, and more!
Sponsorships are available for nearly any budget, from our Diamond (Opening Reception) Sponsor to several Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and even Supporting Sponsorships for non-exhibitors. (Ask for our Sponsorships Manual for details.)
Exhibit booths are priced to be affordable for most organizations; more details are available in the Exhibitors Manual.
The show is produced by What a Great Event! (an events planning & management firm) in tandem with On the Spot Rentals (a property management company). The presidents of both organizations (my husband John and I) have extensive experience as residential and commercial landlords & property managers, and are excited to offer this great event!
As with all What a Great Event! shows, the Greater Bangor Real Estate, Housing and Land Use Conference and Trade Show will offer many opportunities for non-profit organizations to fund-raise via ticket sales, volunteering (we donate per approved volunteer hour to the exhibiting non profit of their choice), and through other means.
We would be pleased to speak with you about your possible role in this show!
With Our Best Regards,
Linda & John Snyder

P.S. In March 2013, I (Linda) celebrated my 30th year as a landlord and real estate investor – it's been quite an adventure!
Frequently Asked Questions!
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
There are no ID or other advance requirements to attend, although if you want to earn professional CEUs you should complete the registration form in advance, so we can submit the information to the instructors. That way they can have your certificates ready for you when the seminar or workshop has completed.
To get a copy of our specific registration form (which can't easily be posted on Eventbrite), you can
download the Registration Form at Maine Landlords and Real Estate Shows on Facebook (or visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/AndroRealEstateLandlordExpo/ – please excuse the URL which I can't change without dumping the whole group and starting over)… you'll have to ask to become a group member first, which isn't a bad thing!
sign up for our eletter, which has all sorts of interesting and very important (!) ideas, information, updates and links – just send an email to LSnyder@regroupbiz.com with "Housing Eletter Signup" in the subject line
email JSnyder@regroupbiz.com and ask for a copy of the registration form.
Where can I find specific information on the seminars & workshops that will be taking place?
As above, to get specific information on the seminars & workshops that will be offered, you can
download the Seminars Flyer by going to Maine Landlords and Real Estate Shows on Facebook (or visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/AndroRealEstateLandlordExpo/ – please excuse the URL which I can't change without dumping the whole group and starting over)… you'll have to ask to become a group member first, which isn't a bad thing!

keep checking back here!
I'd like to present a workshop or seminar. How do I go about doing that? What is the deadline?
To present a workshop or seminar, please contact JSnyder@regroupbiz.com or call him at 207 713 0674.
There is a two-page workshop proposal form that we appreciate presenters filling out… each question and section is designed to make it a whole lot easier for us to determine if your activity is a good match for our event, and to also be able to market it quickly and easily in our Show Program, our eletter, our blog and on our various social media sites.
We prefer to have our workshops & seminars lined up at least two months before each of our events, but we've come to the realization that there will always be last minute changes, additions, whatever.
However, the earlier you can get your proposal in and we can get it approved (especially if there are CEUs attached), the more quickly and more often we can help market your expertise via our blog, eletter, and social media posts! So hurry, hurry, hurry!
(Oh, and in order for the workshop to be included in our Show Program, we really need to have it nailed at least a month in advance of the event.)
I'd like to advertise in the Show Program. How much is it and what is the deadline?
We'd LOVE to have you advertise in the Show Program! Prices vary by size, of course. The deadline for submitting copy and payment most of our events is generally a month prior to the event.
For the 2013 Greater Bangor Real Estate, Housing & Land Use Conference & Trade Show, the deadline for submissions to advertise in the Show Program is September 27th!
How can I find out more about sponsorships or exhibiting?
The Greater Bangor Real Estate, Housing & Land Use Conference & Trade Show has loads of opportunities for sponsoring and exhibiting… it is a full-fledge expo!
Unlike our November 8 show in Lewiston (the Greater Andro Real Estate, Housing & Land Use Conference, which is a conference only, with some limited sponsorship and exhibit possibilities), the Bangor show is a two day event with seminars, workshops, activities, Opening Reception, entertainment, exhibits, vendors, specials, buffet, keynote speaker, networking.. you name it! (We plan to have only two of these full events each year – one in October in Bangor, and one in the spring in Portland.)
Please contact Linda Snyder directly at 207 740 2247 and ask for either the Exhibitors Manual, or the Sponsorships Manual, or by emailing her via LSnyder@regroupbiz.com.
You can also find information about exhibiting on this webpage under "Tickets".
Please note, if you have a great sponsorship idea that we haven't thought of, we'd be more than happy to entertain it!
What is the "Designated Non-Profit Status" all about?
What a Great Event! always offers a free booth and marketing via a simple one-page "Designated Non-Profit Status" RFP, which is send out to as many non-profits as we can find that might meet the critera (for our Real Estate, Housing & Land Use shows, the criteria are that the non-profit concentrate in large part on shelter, food and/or clothing).
The deadline for the Greater Bangor Show has passed but there will be opportunities at each of our future shows.
Do you have an Exhibitors Manual?
Yes! Please contact Linda at LSnyder@regroupbiz.com for a copy, or download it from our group on Facebook – search the Maine Landlords and Real Estate Shows (URL: https://facebook.com/groups/AndroRealEstateLandlordExpo). Again, please excuse the URL, which I can't change without dumping the entire group and starting over.
How often will you repeat this conference?
We will produce the Greater Bangor Real Estate, Housing & Land Use Expo every year, most likely in October.
Do you have other, similar, conferences?
You betcha! Our Greater Androscoggin Real Estate, Housing & Land Use Conference – a smaller, one day conference and with limited sponsorship and exhibit opportunities – will be held at the Ramada Inn & Conference Center on November 8th.
Our Greater Portland Real Estate, Housing & Land Use Expo, another full conference and trade show, is in the works for next spring.
And we are in the process of developing smaller real estate, housing & land use conferences like the Androscoggin one throughout other areas of the state.
I've signed up to be a Sponsor/Exhibitor/Advertiser/Presenter. I understand What a Great Event! will be marketing my company/expertise via the various social media. Who do I contact to make sure you have all the right information?
Jessamyn Hopkins is our Marketing/Social Media Assistant. She can be reached at JHopkins@regroupbiz.com.
Please send her information and updates that can be included in our blog – http://realestatehousingandlanduse.wordpress.com, in our eletter, on Facebook & Twitter, and on other social media sites.

Marketing via our blog, eletter or social media.
Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
It depends.
If you've signed up for professional CEUs, we're sorry. Your registration is not transferrable because we have to provide the information listed on it to the instructors in advance so your certificate can be ready once your seminar or workshop is over. (We really are sorry, since it's a lot more work for us to cancel a registration, refund your money and so forth.)
However, if you have a generic ticket (i.e. no CEUs), there's no problem transferring it to another person.
Can I update my registration information?
Yes, if you have reason to update your information (name, address, workshops you wish to attend, etc) just send us an email at LSnyder@regroupbiz.com with the needed changes. We'll call you with any questions.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
It's always a good idea in case something goes wrong on our end, but generally speaking, no. We'll have the attendance list at the Registration Table. However, if your ticket is one that someone else purchased and transferred to you, it would be an excellent idea for you to bring that printed ticket with you.
What is your refund policy for conference and Opening Reception tickets?
Our refund policy for each conference ticket type can be found under the ticket description. Generally, it is as follows (for this event):
Because we incur expenses that we cannot recapture if a ticket holder cancels, our refund policy is as follows:
Refund for this event that are requested prior to 10/24/13 will be made less a administrative fee.
Refund requests made between 12:00 am on 10/24/13 and 12:00am on 10/30/13 are subject to a 50% administrative fee.
Sorry, no refunds after 12:00am on 10/30/13.
What is your refund policy for sponsorships & exhibit booths?
You'll find out refund policy for sponsorships and exhibit booths in the Sponsorships and Exhibitors manuals. As you can imagine, the closer we get to an event, the more difficult it is for us to return fees, as we've depended on that money and now have to scramble to find replacements… which may not happen.
Here are the specifics from the manuals.
Because of problems we've encountered in the past, we must implement the following refund policy:
Full refund if requested in writing by September 30, 2013, less a administrative fee.
Refunds requested between October 01 and October 15, 2013 are subject to a 50% administrative fee.
No refunds after October 15th 2013, unless we are able to find a replacement booth or sponsorship; a admin fee will apply.
Exhibitors or sponsors who are "No Shows" will not be refunded.
Thank you for understanding.
