Great Life Redesign
Event on 2014-04-25 19:00:00

We are sooooold out! Hop on the wait list and we'll let you know if a spot becomes available.

The Great Life Redesign is about how to live & be in the world. But it’s not about my way – it’s about figuring out what your way looks like and how to make that work for you.

It’s about how to use and implement the skills and concepts you need to have in order to live the life you want to live.

It’s about the psychology of change. Because making the right change in the right way can be simple.

I can't wait to design your life you!

Join me in the spectacular Banff National Park from April 25 – 27, 2014 for 2 ½ days of life design. You’ll swan about in the opulence of the legendary Banff Springs Hotel, where we’ll gather in a lavish retreat room surrounded by breathtaking scenery. You’ll immerse yourself in an atmosphere of willingness & curiosity and we'll design your life—exactly the way you want it to be.

There are puh-lenty of retreats on the scene. Some are rah-rah, some are bursting with star-power gurus, others are swarming with great networking opportunities. Most are inspiring—if you bring the right mindset.

But.

Some events are a tad different. More intimate. Softer. Flowing with deep meaningful connections and wholehearted exploration.

The Great Life Redesign in Banff, Alberta, is one of those rare gems—a chance to rest, reflect, clear your head, uncover ideas, find answers, tap into knowing, and integrate meaningful change.

Within us is the ability to design our lives the way we want them to be. Sometimes we get off course and end up with a life that feels draining. We can feel hobbled and paralyzed, unable to detect the call of our great life. So we resort to what is comfy & familiar :: to-do lists, old habits, busyness, distractions, and self-help books.

We all arrive on this planet with possibility & potential — and, with a desire to live a great life.

With all the demands we have on us and with all the balls we juggle, our vision for our lives can get off-course and maybe even end up completely in the ditch.

In order to live the lives we want to live, we must carve out time and space to design them the way we want them to be. We must understand how to use and implement tools for authentic change. We must offer ourselves and our lives both love and attention.

The Great Life Redesign is an exploration of the tools and treasures that we are born with—but may have forgotten. It’s an opportunity to release what weighs us down so we are free to design, and live, a great life.

During our 2 ½ days together, you will push past your limits while honoring your boundaries in a safe, positive, loving environment. You’ll dig deep, figure out what matters, uncover what’s holding you back, and return to the world with the vision and strategy to live your great life.

It will be a real redesign, complete with metrics and momentum. We’re out to get tangible proof of a great life.

What’s Included?

For 0.00 CAN, you will receive ::

Time. A full 2 ½ days of inspiration & deep internal reconfiguring, after which you emerge on the other side with the skills to do what needs to be done {and the ability to figure out what that is}.

Community. I've invited wise, worldly, and wonderful people to serve as Wisdom Guides. They each specialize in a specific area of life design and they will be there to support you and answer any questions I can't answer. This isn't conference style, there will be no lecturing. And, it's not one of those personal development events where everyone tries to sell you something, there will be no selling {except, you'll be invited to buy a ticket to GLR 2015 & fellow Great Lifers will share their gifts at the Great Life Market}. The Wisdom Guides are there to share about their area of expertise and to help you design your life the way you want it to be in the areas of fitness, nutrition, finances, relationship, parenting & work.

Serenity. The retreat will take place at the luxurious Banff Springs Hotel {check out the virtual tour}, renowned for its panoramic beauty. Located in the heart of the Banff National Park, it boasts non-stop views of the Rocky Mountains. This year we are retreating in the most spectacular rooms the Banff Springs has to offer. We'll engage in our retreat processes in the Cascade Ballroom and our tasty breaks will be enjoyed in the Conservatory. Both rooms will be scattered with devotional candles & infused with love.

Celebration. We kick off the retreat with some heart-opening work early Friday evening. With the stunning Rocky Mountains beneath your feet & crystalline skies above your head, we’ll cap the evening off with a calm celebration, some midnight stargazing and homemade marshmallows. Saturday night join us for the Great Life Celebration! Invite your family and friends and we'll dance the night away.

Nourishment. Healthy snacks & beverages will be provided throughout your experience. If you have allergies, are gluten-free, or have specific dietary requirements let us know and we'll take good care of you. We'll have a tasty break on Saturday morning and for lunch on Saturday we will enjoy a delicious meal together — we'll break bread & deepen our bond. Sunday afternoon we'll delight our tastebuds one more time as we enjoy canapes during the Great Life Market.

Truth. You’ll uncover your truth about what matters to you. The most powerful experiences happen in an atmosphere of openness to truth and willingness to change. I’m not going to tell you what to do or how to live or give you unsolicited advice. The redesign process is all about you digging deep into what matters to you.

Nurturing. Throughout the experience, I’ll encourage you to drink extra water, engage in self-nurturing activities, record your reflections, and ask questions. You may wish to schedule some extra time before and after the retreat to support your mind, body & spirit in integrating the redesign experience.

Confidentiality. By registering for this retreat, you are agreeing to keep everyone’s stories confidential. You do not have to share anything that you discover or write {unless you want to and feel like it}.

Momentum. You’ll come away from this retreat feeling rested, fired up, inspired, recharged and ready to live your Great Life. You’ll have learned meaningful things about yourself, and you will come away with new skills and techniques to support you in living the life you design.

 What’s Not Included?

Breakfasts and dinners are not included. For breakfast and dinner, you'll get to indulge in one of the many fine restaurants scattered throughout the Banff Springs.

Transportation to the retreat is not included.

Accommodations are not included. You can stay at the Banff Springs or you can stay somewhere else nearby — The Banff Springs has offered a really great rate of 9.00 {normally 9.00} for all Life Designers — I'll send you the reservation code as soon as you register for the retreat.

Wait…money for the program and lodging?

Here’s how this came about. I’ve had people begging me to create a luxury retreat, and I’ve had people asking me to create an affordable retreat. Staying at the Banff Springs is a little pricier than some of the other options {though, they have given us an ah-maz-ing rate!}. By letting you choose where to stay, I can offer the same quality retreat to everyone, but you get to decide how much to spend.

Is it for me?

Yes, if you ::

want to live a great life

want to change something about your life

are open to exploring and reflecting

are ready to discover your own truths

are interested in how the psychology of change can make your life easier & greater

want to belong to a community of awesome like-minded people

No, if you ::

do not wish to meet others who are experiencing something similar

if you are looking for a private therapy experience

feel that there is nothing you’d like to change in your life

are not interested in investing time, money, and energy in yourself

are wanting an expert to tell you what you “should” be doing

How Do I Register?

As soon as you know this is for you, register by clicking the button below. The Great Life Redesign alumni and my clients tend to jump on spots ahead of time, so this retreat fills up fast.

If you need a multiple payment option, please let me know; I’m happy to be accommodating.

Remember, all or a portion of the retreat fee may be covered by your extended health care coverage under “Psychological Services”. Once you have paid the full amount, I will issue you a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

In my opinion, any life lived without a clear understanding of what deeply matters is a waste of time. And we don’t have time to waste.

It’s gonna be sublime.

And if it doesn’t work out this time, we’ll have other adventures together. I promise. But if this is speaking to you right now, I’m looking forward to redesigning your life with you.

See you in Banff!

So much love,

F.A.Q's

What’s the schedule?

We gather on Friday evening to register between 6:00pm and 6:45pm. We begin at 7:00pm, we orient to each other and the process and begin the work of releasing what needs to be released in order to create what needs to be created. We wrap up the work part of the evening around 9:30pm and venture into the celebration. Imagine yourself stargazing in the Rocky Mountains, munching on homemade marshmallows & sipping apple cider all while being surrounded by like-minded people.

Saturday morning yoga will be offered in the Cascade Ballroom from 7:15am 8:15am. We meet back in the Cascade Ballroom at 9:00am and we work together until 4:15pm. From 4:15pm until 6:00pm I'll ask you to engage in a solo self-reflection to integrate all the insights you've gathered over the weekend. For dinner on Saturday, you can indulge in one of the many fine restaurants the Banff Springs has to offer. At 8:00pm the Great Life Celebration begins! If you'd prefer a quiet evening, you'll have time to check out the world class spa for some well deserved self-care.

Sunday morning we start at 10:00am. The retreat processes wrap up at 1:00pm and we move into the Great Life Market where you'll get to peruse the products and services of your fellow Great-Lifers while tantalizing your tastebuds and satisfying your appetite with delicious canapes.  The Great Life experience concludes at 3:00pm, so you will have plenty of time to make it back to the city, catch your flight, or soak in the hot springs before you head back into the world.

I already love my life. Should I still come?First of all I'm delighted to hear you love your life! Yay! Here's my perspective :: I really love my life too, and the Life Design process is something I go through personally twice a year. Every time I do it I find it valuable. The retreat is really focused on conscious living. We are all about developing courage, community and consciousness — which is always a work in progress. Some participants come who need a complete life redesign and some people come to reflect, check in, and make a few adjustments.

I've been to the Great Life Redesign retreat before, should I come again?

Yes! About half of the Great Life Redesign participants are alumni. I'm always reading the latest research and integrating new strategies and processes into the GLR experience so every year there is new material. You Great Life is always in motion; it requires time, energy and attention every year.

Is it just for women?

No! Everyone deserves to live a great life

We're an inclusive kind of crowd. A few very special men are always in attendance and we always welcome more to join.

How do I prepare?

Clear the time—and your mind—you are worth it. You will need to be 100% focused. You will get so much more out of this experience if you are mentally and physically present & engaged.

Why is it at a hotel {instead of a retreat center}?

This was a tricky decision to make, I thought about it for a very very long time.

First, the Banff Springs is kinda me — I love luxury, nature, and impeccable service.

Second, at most retreat centers rooms are shared, meals are shared, free time is shared, and processes are shared. While this works beautifully for some people other people need time alone to reflect & rejuvenate. I opted for a bigger hotel so you have your own space and can choose how much to engage with others during the time that we are not together. It seems to me that this is a lovely way to honor both extroverts & introverts.

How do I know if it will be covered by insurance?

Many insurance companies cover psychological services. The best way to determine if your company will reimburse you is to call them and ask if they cover psychological services by psychologists registered in Alberta, Canada and how much is covered. The receipt for this retreat will read 'Psycho-Educational Workshop'.

In case you need to know, my fancy registration number is #3639.

How do I get there?

Check this for general location information or for interactive flight data play with this.

What if I register and I can't make it?

I totally get it. Things happen. Once you register the wheels behind the scene start turning and I spend money to make your experience as awesome as possible. For that reason, there are no refunds, but you are welcome to transfer your spot to someone else {just send me a note to let me know}, or transfer your attendance to the next retreat.

Who are the Wisdom Guides and what wisdom are they sharing?

Explore these circles and pick the three you'd like to attend. You'll be able to sign up for your circles during the Friday evening registration process.Connecting to Soul Love with Lori-AnnClaerhout
