On the occasion of UAE’s 45th National Day, the UAE rulers united at the historic spot where the founding fathers had gathered 45 years ago.

They hoisted the flag at the same spot and renewed their pledge to the country’s people to continue working to further cement the union of the UAE.

Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with members of the Federal Supreme Council and rulers of the Emirates, inaugurated the Etihad (Union) Museum on Friday.

“The Etihad Museum represents a national achievement for the UAE; it is a proud monument and a testament to our nation’s story,” tweeted Sheikh Mohamed.

“The heart of the UAE beats to the rhythm of its leaders, government and people; all united and invincible as one nation.”

All over the country, the National Day celebrations unfolded with much fanfare.

UAE’s National Day was also marked in New York’s famous Times Square.

“45 years have passed; today marks a new beginning for us as a country more united and a people more joyous, facing a more prosperous future,” tweeted His Highness Sheikh Mohammed.
