This example in light bronze. It was also struck in dark bronze but there doesn't seem to have been any significance in this.
The ribbon, in this case the St.-George ribbon, indicates an award to the Separate Caucasus Corps serving in Asiatic Turkey or who fought against the Turks within the borders of the Empire. This ribbon could also be used on awards to naval personnel who took part in the Battle of Sinope, and at Kamchatka at the port of Petropavlovsk.
