RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide financial support and business advice to the Corporate Function Leads (GS, GU FD, HR) / GU Managing Director with a focus on balancing service levels and cost.
Proactively help the GS Lead and function leads to define a strategy to challenge the balance of service level and cost
Understand the business strategy and execution plan for GU overall business needs relationship with local country controller, GU/country, and Geo GS domain
Provide financial process, reporting and operations support for the GU
Oversee GU Corporate Functions (GS, HR, Controllership) financial forecast process (annual, quarterly) teaming with the Function Leads and Finance contacts to understand how the cost structure balances to the growth of the GU
Perform detailed headcount planning for assigned Functions
Review, coordinate and resolve with Function Leads on issues related to variances, risks and upsides versus forecast, targets and trends
Ensure delivery timeliness and quality of quarterly output in global tools and templates
Review and analyze monthly financial reporting/results for the geography (GS, HR, Finance perspective)
Perform monthly closing processes.
Prepare analysis of monthly financial results for function leads explaining variances against plan and forecasts
Resolve issues and follow ups with monthly management reports – coordinate with queries from budget holders regarding transactions and anomalies in their results and follow through on any open items.
Recommend actions to meet financial targets, minimize costs, and/or increase efficiencies.
Ensure that results are in compliance with US GAAP, global policies and accounting standards
Conduct monthly result meeting with GS Lead providing guidance and coaching on spend trends and other metrics
Sponsor Cost Management initiatives
Support the Japan Strategy Program Manager in managing the Geo investments and tracking spend against budget
Provide ad-hoc financial support to the GUFD and Japan Strategy Program Manager as required
QUALIFICATION:
Educational Requirement
Must Have: Graduate of any Degree, preferably Financial Degree.
Good to Have: Good scholastic records. Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
Skills and Work Experience
Good to Have: At least 2 years relevant finance experience in budgeting and management reporting.
Accounting or Finance-related course graduate. Proficient in MS Excel (Intermediate) and PowerPoint. CPA, MBA, Management Accounting Certifications (CIMA, IMA). Basic SAP knowledge on posting and reporting modules. Understanding of US GAAP Accounting.
