On July 9, the Abby Lee Dance Company Los Angeles (ALDC LA) will be performing their first annual summer recital, “Dance to the Music!”

The Abby Lee Dance Company was founded by Abby Lee Miller 35 years ago in order to give young dancers the opportunity to study with the dance community’s most distinguished dance educators and to compete against other talented young people across the country.

Originating from Pittsburgh, many dancers from the studio and Miller herself were offered to be featured in a short documentary back in 2011. This six-week documentary ended up becoming a six-season reality TV show on Lifetime, “Dance Moms!” Going into its 7th season, this show follows the early training of dancers under the instruction of Miller in the cut-throat world of competitive dance (and of course, their dramatic, often even controversial mothers).

It currently airs in 130 countries worldwide and also has three spin-offs: “Dance Moms Miami,” “Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition,” and “Abby’s Studio Rescue.”

The success of this show has brought them out to Los Angeles last year, opening up a new branch called ALDC LA. For the past year, ALDC LA has attracted many both competitive and recreational dancers. At the recital, dancers of all ages will perform in all genres, such as jazz, contemporary, hip hop, lyrical, jazz funk, acro, tap, ballroom, and more! In addition, the cast of Dance Moms, including Sia’s dancer, Maddie Ziegler, will be performing many of the routines from the show!

The Dance to the Music annual recital begins at 8:00 pm at the Agoura Hills Performing Arts Education Center, located on the campus of Agoura Hills High School: 28545 W Driver Ave, Agoura Hills, CA 91301.

General admission is $35, buy your tickets here: https://www.showclix.com/event/ALDCdanceconcertLA9
