Olla Amigos and Amiga’s,

Dora and I are in the airport in San Jose Costa Rica right now and I am just taking this opportunity to catch up with you all..  It seems like such a long time since I have had a chance to have contact with you all.  I believe it has been 10 days!  We initially thought we were returning last night late and didn’t realize we are coming home until Monday night until we were on board our first flight and took a closer look at our tickets!  Surprise..  We had to make arrangements for the last 24 hrs from abroad.  All is well.. I will be back on the floor at the gym before noon on Tuesday!  I will have this post completed and out to you before morning.  Most importantly we want to bring home some warmth, some rest and some love from sunny Costa Rica!  Pura Vida means everything is O.K. and it’s a way of life down here..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv4EeSWe4GQ

Dora and I spent our honey moon and our 10th wedding anniversary at a retreat in the hills of Manuel Antonio. It was our first time away and alone together in 13 or 14 years.  It was our first time away from the kids for more than a night or two.  Michaila my oldest daughter turns 11 next week! OMG!   It was a blessing that Dora and I were in the presence of coaches, facilitators and friends as this was a totally new experience for us.. We practiced yoga, meditation and did personal discovery workshops during the days.  We had 4 free days to tour and our lectures finished every afternoon by 2 pm giving us daily time to explore the countryside, beaches and cities. I woke up early every morning and most days climbed to the top of the mountain to practice TiaChi.  Dora joined me one morning before the sun came up!  Take a look here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npXCBT6WZVk

We did Zip-lining and had a ATV tour with a guide that took us deep into the county side and way up into to mountains to a secret waterfall. View a clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCTG2YEsiyE  The native food was the best! :) It was a fantastic time!  I would wish that time to everyone.  As I travel home now my th0ughts come all the wonderful turn of events in my life that provided me with that opportunity.  All the people who have supported me to allow that to happen.   To what I have learned and to what I want to bring back for myself and for anyone that I come in contact with.

Dora and I went down to work on falling in loving with each other again.  Putting my best self forward to be with you requires me being able to maintain my best self on a day to day basis.  We all can benefit from these lessons.  My wife and I being in a place that we can support each other best is an intricate part of me giving you my best self!  This time was a true priority for me! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYQEnrKdpUs

Don’t you want more energy for your friends, your partner, your employer, your employees, your clients, your customers your families and your children?

What is it that keeps you moving towards your goals?

Or what is it that keeps getting in your way?

Often people ask me how to stay motivated or keep motivated?

I have to say how do you not stay motivated? What’s the alternative to striving to create the best you?  Living a second rate version of yourself..  Being complacent with things as they are…  Living without energy, desire or passion?  How is that living?  There is no real alternative to working to be your best self.  Not if you really want to live this life you have been given.

If you are off track I encourage you to pick yourself up again right now.  If you are off track I call out to you now to step forward and try again.  Don’t sit and waste anymore time waiting for change to happen.  Step forward and create your changes.  Motivation comes from making goals and stepping forward daily towards them.  See yourself right now the way you would like to be.  See yourself right now in that place.  What would it feel like to have a stronger, healthier body?  How would it feel to have more energy, more mobility, more agility and more balance?  See yourself there.  How would that feel for you?  That is where your motivation comes from.  That dream!  That vision!

What actions do you need to take to make those dreams a reality.  Do you need to change your food?  Your habits?  Your bed time?  Your schedule?  Do you need to make sure your workouts are in your day timer?  Do you need to schedule your grocery runs or your time with your kids, your friends or your significant other?  Do you need to make some sacrifices or give up some bad habits?

How do you keep it going long term?

You have got to love the process!  You have to learn how to love every aspect of the process..  It’s not going to happen over night.  Just because you tried and it didn’t work for you doesn’t mean it doesn’t work.  You have to find out what you did wrong!  You need to locate your error and try again.  It starts with one giant step.  One leap of faith believing that this time things can be different!

I promise you they can!

This time when you start again you must come back with a little more intensity and desire.  You have to be more aware of what is getting in your way.  If you keep trying you will find the error!

I loved my vacation.  To keep it alive in me and bring forward that success and that passion and share it in the rest of my world I need to love my daily grind too!  Without my daily grind I would never have gotten the opportunity to taste the sweet fruit of Costa Rica.  Both aspects of my life need to be loved.  Not just the holiday.  You need to love the bus trip to the airport home too!  You need to love the line ups, the waiting for what you really want, the hard work that stands in between where you are and where you want to go!  You even have to love the alarm clock when it goes off in the morning.

Happiness and true success and freedom comes from loving the entire process!

The mistake we all make is breaking our lives up into separate parts.  We label the parts as parts we like, dislike or are indifferent to.  Big Mistake!  We need to stop separating our lives and labelling it.  We need to stop judging each moment as good or bad.  Just love the moment.  This is the process.  This is the way to what we want!  Start each day with that vision in the mind of where you want to go and take tiny daily action until you get there.

The only obstacle to loving any body or any aspect of your life is you!  You can learn to love your exercise program if you don’t already.  You can learn to love your vegetables if you don’t already.  You can learn to love your partner or your friend or your career or you can take action to change those too!  Happiness ultimately is your own personal responsibility.  You can never love anyone before you can learn to love yourself.  You must learn to stop fighting your world.  Stop blaming your circumstances or the people in your life for your unhappiness.  Loving someone means loving them as they are.  Not if they change.  Loving someone requires patience.  Loving someone doesn’t keep score.  Loving your moments is no different!  Loving your workouts and your food is no different.  Watching your thoughts, your words and your actions is the way.

Until we have each found and learned our way back to truth, freedom and peace we must keep working.  Gently working!  We will all find what we are truly seeking!  As long as we are seeking.  Action is required.

We all need professional help sometimes.  Myself included!  There is no better way to improve any aspect of your life than by surrounding yourself with people who are already doing what you want to do!

March Break Kids Camp Starts next week!  This is our first March Break Camp and we are kicking it off with a very affordable rate to encourage all of you to register your children.  Don’t let them waste all day at home watching TV or playing video games.  Get them active physically and mentally with our all day camp!  Drop them off at 815am and pick them up as late as 6pm is required.  Save a bundle by signing your child up for the entire week or register them for an great daily rate of $35.  Take advantage of us this year!  Next year we will ask for more! Pack a lunch for your son or daughter and make sure they have a couple of snacks too!  In the mornings we meet at the church behind the gym.  We start off with indoor sports.  Dodge ball or basketball  are routine favourites.   After morning games we give the kids a little snack break before walking over to the gym for training time.  Kids are trained physically with agility, speed work, jumping, running, squatting, lunging push ups and pull ups, competition and fun are all apart of bringing out their best!  Mixed martial arts, boxing, kicking, wrestling and breakdancing all add to make sure that kids are active and not bored.  After training they break for lunch.  After lunch we spend some time doing some mental work.   Flash cards, math, reading, spelling and health education period at least 30 minutes every day!  Late afternoon we will head outside to the park.  All kids should bring snow pants for outdoor play.  Finish off back at the gym for afternoon snack and a little free play before pick up!  The entire week will be $119 for you son or daughter or register multiple kids at a discount price for the day or for the week.
