Hey :) First thing you have to do is decide whether you want to be a long term transitioner or do the big chop. A long term transitioner slowly cuts off the processed hair by getting regular trims, until the new growth is at a length they are comfortable with. Then they cut off all of the processed hair that is left. It may take months. Even years! It’s up to you how long you want to transition. It may be frustrating because you’ll have 2 different textures. You have to be diligent about keeping it deep conditioned and moisturized so the line that separates the two textures doesn’t break off (before you’re ready to cut it). And you’ll have to learn styles (tons of awesome tutorials on YouTube) that cater to both textures.

A big chop is basically cutting off all the processed hair right now! That way the new growth will come in without having to deal with two textures. Not everyone is ready for that. And not everyone is comfortable with short hair. Once again, it’s up to you! Once you’ve decided which road you want to take, make YouTube tutorials your best friend as far as maintaining healthy natural hair. Or just email me and we can create a healthy hair plan. Hope that helps!

Good luck! You’ll look beautiful either way
