There aren’t many projects I am anticipating more than the season two finale of Cult Retro’s Stormy Tempest series. We’ve been promised that it will be released soon, but in the meantime Cult Retro has temporarily re-released some older material for download at a reduced price.

Synopsis:

Basically, it’s a great jumping on point if you didn’t catch all of the season one episodes and it’s an absolute bargain for $9.95. Nicola Rae looks stunning as usual and with all due respect to the fantastic producers over at Cult Retro there should be no debate as to whether you give Aliya Hayes her own ongoing series. Let’s just make that happen as soon as humanly possible. You have my full support. That scene with the Warmech device in “Women of Tomorrow” was just too good and we need to see more. Please, don’t make me beg.

Sidekick: Looking back and upon re-reading my Cult Retro reviews, I don’t think I’ve ever properly relayed what great filmmakers these guys are. Without question, Cult Retro has become my favorite American producer, and I don’t think there is any doubt they are one of the best in this particular genre. I mentioned how much I am looking forward to the season two finale, but it’s the small glimpses I’ve had at season three that have me tremendously excited. A couple weeks ago, Cult Retro had a fund-raising drive where for a donation they gave contributors access to behind the scenes footage and photos of season three.
We’ve seen Stormy Tempest in peril before, but judging from the material they released I think they intend to take it to a new level next season. Stormy faces off against several adversaries including Clayton the Sleeper, a swamp monster, and a new character named Velocity Blaze.
It’s actually the Velocity Blaze footage that piqued my interest the most. My favorite type of peril videos are where the heroine is physically outmatched and has to come up with creative solutions to winning the fight. Well, it looks like Stormy is going to have to do just that because the small amounts of footage they released with the two characters facing off shows a damn near invulnerable Velocity Blaze just dominating Stormy.
Keep in mind this is making-of footage so some or all of it may be cut, but it showed Blaze easily lifting Stormy in the air by her costume, slamming Stormy’s head into a tree over and over, and Blaze yawning in boredom after taking Stormy’s best punches. The footage looked great, and it appears that Stormy is going to take a beating like never before. Can’t wait for Stormy vs. Velocity Blaze!
