Hi lovelies,
How have you been? Recently I have been stuck in a little bit of a makeup rut, wearing the same looks over and over again, using the same products. It’s not necessarily a bad thing because this way I discovered a few products that I love at the moment and use every day. Today I am going to talk about these beauties and share my thoughts.
First up, is Mac Cosmetics Prep+Prime Fix+ in Coconut. I picked it up a few months ago when Mac released 5 different scents of this cult favorite and it is my first bottle of this product. It can be used in many different ways and that’s what I love the most about it. It works as a primer, sprayed onto your face before putting on any makeup, it feels really refreshing on the skin and provides a good dose of moisture. It can also be used as a setting spray after your makeup is done.
However, my favorite way to use it is for intensifying my highlighter. I spray a little bit of Mac Prep+Prime Fix+ onto my highlighting brush, then dab it in my powder highlighter and apply it to my cheeks. This way the highlighter appears more intense but at the same time it sinks seamlessly into the skin.
Also, a great way to use it is to spray a little bit of the product onto a liner brush, dab it into an eyeshadow to create your custom eyeliner. Once again, Prep+Prime Fix+ intensifies the look of the eyeshadow but isn’t as harsh looking as a gel liner.
Speaking of eyeshadows, Urban Decay’s Riff has been my jam lately. It’s a gorgeous matte soft brown shade that has a little bit of tiny sparkles. It is a perfect crease shade, it applies and blends really smoothly.
The third product that I discovered only a few days ago but I already can’t be without is ItCosmetics Bye Bye Pores HD Micro-powder. It’s a loose, translucent powder. I bought it after I ran out of my Urban Decay Naked Loose Powder and I wanted to try something new. I use Bye Bye Pores HD Micro-Powder as a finishing powder. I love that it has no color so there is no risk of over applying it and it does conceal pores, without setting into the fine lines. It’s supposed to absorb excess oil and keep your complexion shine free throughout the day. And it really does. After I apply the powder in the morning, there is no need to reapply it throughout the day. Even my T-zone (which normally is the only place that gets shiny) stays completely matte.
Lastly, two new products from Maybelline- a mascara and a brow gel. The latest mascara from Maybelline is called The Falsies Push Up Drama mascara. I really like its long silicone brush with “push up cups” as it delivers the product evenly to my lashes creating instant volume, length and lift. The mascara is really glossy, which results in dramatic looking lashes, which I personally love. It might not beat my all time favorite Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies mascara but it comes as a close second.
The last product I have been loving is Maybelline’s Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara. I purchased it when looking for a brow product that would look more natural than the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. It’s a tinted brow gel that provides just a perfect, very natural color to my brows while setting them in place. The mascara has a ball-ended brush, which you use to sculpt your brows in an upward motion. Although the brush looks a little scary, it’s actually really easy to use. I really like reaching for The Brow Drama Brow Mascara for my every day looks. If you’re looking for dramatic, drawn on eyebrows, it might not be a product for you.
I really love all of these 5 products and they have become staples in my every day makeup and I highly recommend them. Have you tried any of these products? What are some beauty bits that you have been loving lately?
