The Role As an English Tutor you will be providing online English lessons to Chinese children. You will be able to work flexible hours from your home office/location to deliver unique and innovative e-Learning lessons using GVE provided teaching materials, resources and techniques.

This is a part-time, independent contractor role, working between the hours of 6am-10am EST. Must be available to begin in early September. The hourly rate range begins at $18/hr US and is dependent upon experience. The English Tutor will gain rewarding experience working in the emerging and fast-growing online education industry.

Key Accountabilities

Review and customize lesson plans provided by GVE for each scheduled live learning lesson.

Deliver 30-minute live video lessons to students from grades 1-9 using a video conferencing tool.

Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their English proficiency.

Create a friendly, safe, supportive and respectful online environment, to help GVE students successfully complete the learning goals of each lesson.

Skills & Experience

Native level English fluency required.

Committed availability, between the hours of 6:00am-10:00am Eastern Standard time.

Qualified home office/location with an internet-connected computer with web-cam and microphone capability.

Minimum three-months or equivalent combination of teaching experience which may include part-time volunteer, community and coaching activities.

Must be punctual at all times and follow the agreed-upon lesson schedule.

Patient, hardworking & passionate about language education.

Strong communication skills interacting with English as a Second Language (ESL) students.

Other Desired:

Bachelor's degree in Education or Teacher training certifications: Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or equivalent.

Teaching experience in English as a Second Language (ESL)/English as a Foreign Language (EFL).
