Summary

The Retail Auditor can work remotely from Denver, Dallas or Orlando areas and will be responsible for performing store audits utilizing a standard work program, store shrink reviews, physical inventory observations, and training in the store environment. Retail Auditors will be responsible for understanding store policies and procedures, including point of sale procedures and store standards. This position represents the Internal Audit Department in the store environment. All stores eligible for audit must be audited, all new stores receive 1.5 days of training, and all new Store Team Leaders receive one day of training. Additional time will be spent performing physical inventory observations and on special projects. Limited home office time will be available to schedule travel and prepare audit documentation. Up to 100% travel can be expected.

Scope

Perform store operational audits and inventory observations focused on internal controls and adherence to policies and procedures.

Provide audit, internal control and inventory shrink training to store and district level management. Perform other operational audits, as required.

Provide policy and procedure recommendations to improve internal controls and operational efficiency.

Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects and audits, as needed.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.

Preferred: Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.

Experience

Minimum: 0 - 2 years of experience in Accounting, Finance or Internal Audit.

Preferred: Retail industry and Internal Audit experience.

Other Skills

Preferred: CPA, CIA, CMA or equivalent certification. Understanding of basic accounting principles, audit procedures and techniques and internal controls; understanding of retail operations and related policies and procedures; ability to work independently, as well as with a team; significant travel will be required (up to 100%).
