Hi Customer,
Based on your description, we understand you have inserted a slide show into a web page, but it is down and saying “image missing” when viewing the website. I have entered your website dejasdoggiecamp.com, and found there’s a slide show working well in the middle of the page Pictures & Videos - Subscribe. Would you please tell us if this is the problematic slide show you’re referring to?
Normally, we suggest our customers use an official method to embed a PowerPoint 2013 presentation into the website page. There are three steps involved: upload the document to a library, generate the embed code, and then add the embed code to a web page. Here I offer the detailed steps, and if it’s convenient, would you please go through them carefully, and check if they have been correctly configured at your web page?
Step 1: Upload the document or presentation to a library
1. Log into the website, click Settings > Site contents
2. Click add an app to create a new Document Library, e.g. named as TEST. After the creation, enter it. Here we need to add the target presentation file into this library. Click FILES > Upload Document
3. Click the ellipsis . . . next to the name to open the hover card, and then click Share
4. To create a publicly accessible file that does not require credentials, in the Share dialog box, type Everyone in the Invite People box, select Can view from the dropdown menu, clear the Require sign-in check box, and then click Share
Step 2: Generate the embed code
1. Open the Share dialog box again, choose the Get a link tab, in the View Only box copy the URL, and then click Close
2. Open a new browser tab or window, paste the URL in the address bar, and Press ENTER
3. In the PowerPoint Web App, click File > Share > Embed.
4. Preview the document or presentation in the preview box:
Under Dimensions, select a dimension (measured in pixels as Width x Height).
Click Interaction. If your presentation is set to automatically play and you want that to occur on your web page, select Use default autoadvance settings from the file.
5. In the Embed Code box, select all the code, and press CTRL+C. If your browser prompts you to allow access to your Clipboard, click Allow access
6. Click Close.
7. Close the browser tab or window
Step 3: Add the embed code to a web page
1. Browse to the page where you want to add the document or presentation. Click PAGE > Edit
2. Place your cursor on the page where you want the embedded document or presentation to appear. Click INSERT > Embed Code
3. In the Embed dialog box, press CTRL+V to paste the code, and then click Insert
4. To customize the embed code, click Edit Snippet at the bottom of the frame
5. When finishing the customization of the page, click PAGE > Save and Publish
After the above configurations, when users enter the website, they should be able to read the slide show easily and successfully.
If there are still some problems after these settings, or we have misunderstood anything, would you please offer us more information for further troubleshooting? For instance, the screenshots of the problematic page, the steps you have performed, and the error message, etc. With all this information, we could try reproducing the issue at our client, and narrow down the root causes. All your time and efforts are highly appreciated.
Best Regards,
Ella Huang
