Hi, Sorry this is my first time posting, and hope you can help with my problem. I have an Office 365 Exchange Online Account from my University which I am NOT able to connect to and add using Outlook 2013 Desktop. On attempting to add the email account, after I enter my email address ( my.name@uni.sydney.edu.au ) and password - it Establishes a network connection, Searches for settings, but then displays: "Microsoft Outlook: The action cannot be completed. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action." After clicking OK, another window then opens, with a General tab, and two fields: Microsoft Exchange server: which is empty, and Mailbox: "=SMTP:my.name@uni.sydney.edu.au". You must provide the name of your Microsoft Exchange server and mailbox above, and click Check Name. If you do not know this information, contact your Exchange administrator. Once the names have been checked and are underlined, click OK. I have tried putting into the first field: outlook.office365.com ; and into the second field, just deleting the SMTP - so my Mailbox is: my.name@uni.sydney.edu.au However, it does not verify and I get an error: "Microsoft Outlook: The name cannot be resolved. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action". Therefore I cannot complete the action of Logging on to the mail server - and cannot add this exchange account to Outlook 2013. What is interesting is that I AM able to connect to the Office 365 Exchange Online Account with full functionality using: 1. Windows Phone 8.1 - through autodiscover process by adding Exchange account 2. Windows 8.1 Mail app, Windows 8.1 Calendar app - through autodiscover process by adding Exchange account. Both work well. 3. Use of the web portal: http://outlook.com/uni.sydney.edu.au - I can login and use all functions. I have troubleshot this with my University IT help desk with no resolution. We have also tried to do this manually, with no success using instructions similar to those found here: http://blog.migrationwiz.com/2013/03/13/manually-configuring-outlook-for-office-365/ From my research online as an end user, I wonder if it may be related to the upgrade of Office 365 as per: http://office.microsoft.com/en-001/office365-suite-help/outlook-cant-connect-to-email-fix-autodiscover-record-HA104174218.aspx Although I am unsure what a CNAME is, I have not been able to successfully Check my name using the manual setup. I have also run the Remote Connectivity Analyzer for Office 365, Microsoft Outlook Connectivity Tests, Outlook Autodiscover ( https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/ ) - with the results below the break below - which look like they fail with autodiscover, but work with HTTP methods. I have replace my actual name with my.name in the results. Could you please help determine if I am totally missing an obvious setting in setting up my account manually, or if my University needs to adjust some server settings?
