The quick search field is intended to provide a way to quickly
search just the register that is currently open, so the
functionality you are seeing is intended.
With the advanced search function, it handles searching for
memos in split transactions somewhat counter-intuitively. When you
enter in memos in the split transactions window, Moneydance
actually treats those memos more as descriptions, since it handles
a split transaction more like two different transactions. What this
means is that you can search for items in the split memo field by
searching in the description field in the advanced find window.
