Rabindranath Tagore May 1861 – 7 August 1941), was a Bengali polymath who reshaped Bengali literature and music, as well as Indian art with Contextual Modernism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Author of Gitanjali and its “profoundly sensitive, fresh and beautiful verse”, he became the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913.
In translation his poetry was viewed as spiritual and mercurial; however, his “elegant prose and magical poetry” remain largely unknown outside Bengal. Tagore introduced new prose and verse forms and the use of colloquial language into Bengali literature, thereby freeing it from traditional models based on classical Sanskrit. He was highly influential in introducing the best of Indian culture to the West and vice versa, and he is generally regarded as the outstanding creative artist of the modern Indian subcontinent.
Besides these, he wrote musical dramas, dance dramas, essays of all types, travel diaries, and two autobiographies, one in his middle years and the other shortly before his death in 1941. Tagore also left numerous drawings and paintings, and songs for which he wrote the music himself.

Mr Himanshu Bhatt
Mr Himanshu Bhatt is a Journalist, Theatre practitioner and Heritage Activist currently based in Penang.
He is a former News Editor of ‘The Sun’ and has over the last 20 years also served as a Senior Writer of the New Sunday Times and The Edge Media Group.
He recently authored a coffee-table book on “Little India of George Town” and a book titled “A Quick Guide to Butterworth”.
Himanshu Bhatt has also researched and written extensively on the Bujang Valley archeological site.
A scholarship graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Los Angeles, Himanshu has been engaged in about 60 theatre and film projects over the last 25 years, including dramatic recitals of Rabindranath Tagore’s plays and short stories.

Mr Henry Lim
Henry Lim is the Executive Vice President(Operations) with HELP International Corporation Bhd, a private higher education provider based in Malaysia, and operating throughout South and East Asia.
Henry was trained as an agricultural engineer, and has had a hands-on career in both the agro and manufacturing industries. His initial career focus was in agricultural engineering with the Unilever Group in Malaysia. He subsequently switched to manufacturing facilities management and production operations at Universal Cables Bhd and other manufacturing plants. In addition to hands-on practice, Henry has also consulted for government and private organizations on engineering and electronic commerce regulation, policy and business development.
While pursuing his MBA, Henry started a 22-year career in higher education. He was involved in the start-up of four private institutions of higher education in Malaysia, and the set-up of six others within South and East Asia. As Vice President of a regional higher education group, he also consulted for several state and federal governments, private organizations and peak bodies within Southeast Asia on the development of universities and other education projects. He is familiar with the education landscape of the Asian region, and works closely with tertiary institutions and peak industry bodies in the USA, UK, Europe and Australia – having worked within Australasia, including an eight-year stint in the Australian vocational and university sectors.
