Loot Gaming Box is a new monthly subscription box from Loot Crate featuring  collectibles, apparel, accessories and more from the biggest and best video game universes. Each box will have $60 in items, plus a booklet/mini-mag and pin.

I liked what I saw when I opened up the box – Loot Gaming says they’re going to cover all gaming genres!

Everything in the box! The first Loot Gaming box for March 2016 had the theme LEGACY! (No, it’s not the April box even though it landed in April – check out the April Loot Gaming box spoilers here!)

Here’s a look at the cool stylized box art for the inaugural crate!

It looks pretty damned neat upside down, too!

Every box comes with a mini-mag – called The Game Manual for Loot Gaming. I was particularly impressed by the style of this one.

I loved how the item pages give you extra game knowledge and information, instead of just being about the item!

I wasn’t sure about this notes page though – I wished that they’d included some cool exclusive content.

March 2016 (I told you this was the March box) LEGACY Founder’s Pin – I thought this was really a neat pin, with an awesome design that reflected the box art, plus it evoked a game token.

Bioworld The Elder Scrolls V:SKYRIM Crew Socks (~$10) Exclusive to the box with the Skyrim dragon!

Here’s how it looks right side up.

They don’t have quite the look of the socks in the photo – and I’m not sure how a mid-calf sock will stay up being 100% cotton, but we’ll give it a shot.

Street Fighter V Shadaloo Collectible Pin ($priceless ok $10?)

I know, we haven’t even gotten to the pin yet!

LAAAA! It’s glorious! The color is exclusive to Loot Gaming and bovs it’s a replica of M. Bison’s hat pin.

I. Love. It.

HALO The Master Chief Hooded Scarf ($20?) This is a Loot Crate exclusive item manufactured by The Coop and I can’t find anything else like it online! It’s pretty awesome – printed with a photorealistic process and lined with soft green velour.

My tiny gamer was an auto-fan! My husband & I fell in love playing Halo, so we’re tickled by this item! It’s an awesome shooter, who wouldn’t want to spend an entire summer playing it??

I think it looks great! (Also, she can’t wait for MineChest to drop!)

Super Mario Bros Shirt (~$15)  Super soft! I love the 8-bit characters and fortunately I ordered my size, or my tiny gamer would steal it! I’m considering switching the shirt to her size, she would love it.

Heroes of the Storm Funko Mystery Mini ($8.92) Who doesn’t love a blind box?!

There was a 1/12 chance of collecting one of these characters from Blizzard!

We got Stitches! He’s so gross. My daughter gleefully placed him in her collection. She told her little brother not to look at him.  She joins Kerrigan, which we had from another box!

Yum, exposed vertebrae and gaping wounds!

The box also came with a Heroes of the Storm download code for a free character and skin code! If you didn’t see it in your inbox, check your spam folder!

This was a pretty good box – but I’m not sure that it’s quite regular Loot Crate levels yet. I loved the shirt and the pin and the scarf was also awesome (utility is questionable but casual cosplaying value is high) but I didn’t see anything like what they lauded the box as containing  (connected apparel that unlocks exclusive in-game items and physical versions of in-game items so you can own a piece of that gaming universe). I really want for that to happen at this $30 price point!
