Bespoke Post is a men’s lifestyle subscription box, and it remains the premier choice for high quality, sophisticated accessories, gear, and curated interest kits for hobbyists and Renaissance men. Each month, you’ll get to choose from one of the limited-edition boxes filled with an array of products built around a central, unique theme. There are usually two or three new boxes to choose from every month in addition to a selection of past boxes. One of the great things about this subscription is that you can skip the month if you’re not interested in it.

The theme for this box is Slice. I was excited to see several selections this month that I hadn’t seen before (which is amazing considering how long I have been a subscriber), so I actually grabbed a couple of them — my other selection was Grow.
The front side of the information card identified all the cool stuff in the Slice curation.
Everything in the Bespoke Post Slice Box. It has all the basics needed to make your homemade pizza have that fabulously crisp pizzeria crust!
Mike’s Hot Honey ($10): An unusual and divine condiment, Mike’s doses smooth honey with a splash of vinegar that is seasoned with a hefty dose of chili essence. The otherwise mellow honey takes on a lively heat that complements a savory pizza as well as any sweet combination concocted. Our bottle was leaky and Bespoke Post promptly replaced it! They have amazing customer service.
Sparq Home Soapstone Pizza Stone ($29.95): This 11 1/2″ diameter stone is ideal for cooking either a pizza for two or smaller personal size pies. Unlike clay stones, the top surface is polished and non-porous.
The soapstone composition makes the stone amenable to cleaning in either the dishwasher, with soapy water, or with a water-based cleanser.
The stone is hefty and has the natural beauty of real stone. If kept clean, it is certainly lovely enough to double as a cheese stone!
W&P Design Walnut Pizza Wheel: This small pizza wheel is sized appropriately for homemade pies. The blade is sharp and cuts crisp crust with ease. The walnut handle has a nice feel, and the double guard protects from both cast off grease and a slipping grip.
Antimo Caputo 00 Chef’s Flour ($1.70): This wheat flour is ground very fine for a smooth dough and crisp crust. Made in Italy, it is ideal for making Neapolitan style pizza.
We gave our stone a heavy workout, doing a make your own pizza night for everyone in the family. With a little forethought in making the dough, you can crank pizzas for everyone in the family out of your own oven in the amount of time it takes to get delivery. You can build pizzas on a wooden cutting board, the back of a sheet pan, an edgeless cookie sheet, or a baker’s peel for best results. Absent a peel, I’ve had success pulling the oven shelf out, laying tossed dough on the stone and quickly building the pizza on the hot stone.
The stone is thick and retains heat quite well. The polished surface also resists sticking, so long as you keep the sauce clear of your edge — I was able to slide a pie around with my finger tips seconds after placing it on the stone. Finished pizzas can be easily tugged onto a plate for cutting.
We broke out a bottle of Rockpile Zinfandel to serve with our pizza. It was one of the reds tagged specifically for pairing with pizza in our recent “Pizza” themed Wine Awesomeness.
I used the last of our dough to make some some plain breads, covering them with butter and a drizzle of Mike’s hot honey. The honey doesn’t have any strong floral or fruit notes, which makes the chili really stand out. This reminded me of fried ice cream, sans the actual ice cream.
Bespoke Post remains one of my favorite guy-friendly subscriptions — there are so many different themes to choose from, and I always get really excited about using everything right off the bat. The quality of the items, whether it be a hobby kit, apparel, or food related, always make me feel like I am investing in my quality of life rather than justing getting something to set it aside.
