If you choose to subscribe to Yarn Crush month to month, the price is $32.99 per month. If you prepay for 3 months, the price is $32.00 per month and you get a free gift. If you prepay for 6 months, the price is $31.66 a month and you get the free gift. And, if you are totally committed to this box of swoon worthy yarn, you can prepay for a full year and the price drops to $31.25 a month (you get the free gift of course). Shipping to the U.S. is $5 per box.
You also get to have some input to the colour way that you get. You can choose between Warm, Cool, Neutral and Surprise Me.
The flip side of the Yarn Crush card gives all kind of useful information about the included products including their retail price. There is also coupon codes for patterns and a referral offer from yarn crush. For every three friends that sign up using your referral link you get a free box. Cha-ching! (You have to subscribe first and then log into your account to get your referral link).
It looks like there were a couple things left of off the card, so this note with corrections was included. The total retail value of this box was $43.98! Subscription boxes are a great way to get awesome stuff (like yarn!) at reduced prices.
The knitting pattern is a cute shawlette called Fluttershy ($4) and was designed by Katie Degroff. She has some really gorgeous sock patterns on her site.
The pattern cards are printed on a sturdy card stock with a laminated finish. Very good to keep in your permanent pattern collection.
The crochet pattern is a cowl called Rainbow Rays ($2.50) by Twinkie Chan. She has all kinds of cute food themed crochet patterns in her store. Some are even free.
The pattern was very easy to follow (it goes on to the back side of the card.) It worked up beautifully, I am nearly done. Check it out below. I just wish my hair matched my cowl. Maybe I should get a blue streak….
The notions and free gift were neatly packaged in this pink drawstring mesh bag.
The notions included 3 handsome wooden buttons ($2.49) to complete your project.
The Bonus Gift in this month’s box was this immensely cute little sheep necklace ($9.99). Ewe will love it. It will bring you sheer joy. Hehe.
The most scrumptious yarn was from Joma Yarn ($30).
Just look at those colors. They blend and flow beautifully!
The type of yarn is Marshmellow Rino and the colourway is Smitten. How appropriate. Because, I am totally smitten. It is a 115g hank of worsted 100% Superwash Merino. It was spun in Canada and hand dyed on Vancouver Island.
Make sure to wind it into a ball before you begin working. Just sayin’.
I am still working on the crochet cowl, but look at those ridges made by the back post stitches! They nearly look like cables. Gorgeous!
Yarn Crush is a great fiber subscription that will nearly satisfy your need for more yarn in your life. I say nearly, because if you are like me, you can never really have enough yarn. Right? But, the good news is that there is another box coming next month with more fabulous yarn!!
