Your subscription also entitles you to PLAY! Date meetups if your store participates. I don’t even have a Sephora (not even a JCP one) but this box totally excites me even without those experiences – I love the high end brands every month for just $10.
This fold out poster shows a list of all the items included in this box plus beauty trivia and tips. You can access all of the information and also watch the videos right on the Sephora site or use the app to scan the sheet for more info!
The items are placed inside a bag inside the box to keep everything secure. These are super cute – what are you using your bags for?

Living Proof Night Cap Overnight Perfector ($7). I’m going to really be testing this one out – it provides up to a week of softness and shine, lasts through up to 5 shampoos, can be applied to damp or dry hair, and is pillow safe! I generally really like Living Proof products and I can’t wait to see if this works as promised – because that would be an actual miracle.
Dr. Jart Water Drop Hydrating Moisturizer ($10.91). This moisturizer is designed to provide an instant burst of hydration to dry skin. Helpfully, the package tells me exactly when to use it – after your regular serum. It turns to water when you rub it in. This wasn’t hydrating enough for my skin (which is quite dry) but it has a texture that reminds me of primer – I think it’s excellent for an under makeup moisturizer!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel ($6.68) This brow gel helps set unruly brows and doesn’t flake! It’s definitely a winner, and the information booklet included brow tips!
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner ($7) What other subscription box sends Kat Von D (none, I think!)?! This has a unique brush tip that allows for some really precise looks – check out the information card for tips. This is like eyeliner calligraphy! Swatch below!
Sephora Collection Rouge Shine Lipstick ($3.37). This is a lightweight shea-infused lipstick from Sephora’s house brand.
Although the information sheet really talked up this “Love Spell” color – go-to shade of pink, must-have rosy pink – the color is atrocious on me and reminds me of the lipsticks I used to swipe from my grandmother when I was elementary school.
I did like the shine and this sheer color stayed-put, but it’s not very pigmented.
Tory Burch Jolie Fleur Verte ($2.79). I found this fragrance to be perfumy and overly floral for my tastes – not surprising given the description:
Jolie Fleur Verte captures the crisp green color and dewy aroma of lily of the valley in Tory Burch’s garden. In the tomboy and easygoing mix, hints of mandarin, neroli oil, and jasmine open up into soft scents of lily of the valley.
Except for the tomboy part – I don’t know what that’s about!
The value of my box this month was about $38 – not too shabby! The Living Proof, Dr. Jart, and Kat Von D were A+ for me, happy to have the Anastasia, but I wasn’t wowed by the other products. This also pretty much tracks which of the products were unBasic Basics vs. which items didn’t really meet the theme for me! But I’m still wowed by the brand that Sephora puts into this subscription – I think it’s a must-have box!
