My Loot Crate Firefly Cargo Crate came this weekend and I was so excited to dig in and open it up. I have loved Firefly since it was on tv the first time and then when the movie Serenity came out I was even more excited and I will watch both when they are on tv. I actually own the DVD boxed set to so I will put that in and watch it all the way through. This box actually makes me smile and I get a huge grin every time when I see it in my mailbox.
First look and I was stoked. Zoe is awesome.
Everything in the Zoe crate.
I love the way they pack this box with all of the papers on the bottom so that they can stay relatively flat and not get wrinkled and torn up in shipping. The Firefly crate does not just send an info card but they send a whole mini magazine called You Can’t Stop the Signal. It gives information on the items in the crate and other behind the scenes stories.
The info pages in the magazine.
Zoe Little Damn Heroes Mini Master – These mini masters are going to be available exclusively through Firefly Cargo Crate and I love them and NEED the whole set. Zoe is very no-nonsense and businesslike and this figure really captures that.
Certificate of Valor – Zoe was a soldier and that is how she met Mal back in the day. They were fighting for freedom and this certificate is a symbol of that.
Hera Travel Sticker – Each month we get a new travel sticker and Hera is special for both Zoe and Mal. It reminds them that even if you are torn up plenty you can still fly true.
Independents San Diego Comic Con 2016 Challenge Coin – Don’t you always need some coin when you are in an Alliance bar needing a drink? This is a coin that will help you with that. It is really heavy and a nice exclusive from SDCC. I love the back of the coin and seeing the Firefly.
Mal Q-bit Mini Mystery Figure – The info card says that we could have received Wash or Mal in this crate. There was always a bit of a mystery as to why Zoe didn’t pick Mal and instead picked Wash and married him. It is the one time that she went against Mal’s orders. That is actually from one of the more intense episodes called War Stories. I loved that one and actually got a bit sidetracked watching it when I started thinking of this box.
Serenity Journal – Oh my goodness this is Shiny and perfect. I love notebooks and I have a nice collection of them.
This has a nice feel too it and heavy pages which I love. I don’t care for a notebook with thin pages. I want some bulk to mine and this is good. I can’t wait to use this one and I see it becoming my tv watching journal quickly. I keep a notepad/notebook next to my normal tv watching chair to jot down things as I think of them in the evenings and this will look great on my table with me. I can’t wait to see what all I can get in it.
Big Damn Heroes Pin – This comes right from something Zoe says. The pins they send each month are selected to go with the character they are featuring. It is a great touch and this one even coordinates with the challenge coin in the box.
Stand Firm T-shirt – This shirt was designed by Firefly Costume Designer Shawna Trpcic and while I like that they actually worked on the show I will not be wearing this shirt. It really doesn’t say Zoe to me and as a female I’m not wearing a shirt with a girl in a bikini. It’s just not going to happen. I will pass this on to my brother who I’m sure will wear it.
Even with the shirt that isn’t for me this was another fantastically SHINY Firefly Cargo Crate. The other items are really great and I love that they are exclusive and not things I can just jump out and buy. I have a nice little collection of my figures and pins on a shelf in my office (see picture below). I hope to fill the shelf as I get more of the figures and I need to look into something else for my pins. Maybe a strip of cork along the front to push them into. I can’t wait to get my next box that they have already announced will be themed to Wash!
