I love the idea of a uniform. Although I like a unique outfit as much as the next girl, most days you’ll see me in some version of the same clothes. It makes getting dressed in the morning so much easier!

My summer uniform is either a dress or a pair shorts/white pants and shirt worn with sandals, large sunglasses, and simple jewelry. The best part is that everything mixes and matches.

Here’s what I’ll be wearing this summer:

Shirts: As far as tops go, I look for clean shapes with a little detail, whether it be a great color or special fabric. I actually have all three of these shirts from The Limited, and I love them all! The Chiffon Trim Tee has a classic shape with sheer insets and a subtle high-low hem; the Lace Yoke Tie-Front Top is super pretty and has a fun retro vibe; and the Sleeveless Ashton Blouse drapes beautifully and looks good tucked in or not. And good news: through 6/13 all full-priced items at The Limited are buy 1, get 1 50% off. Plus, take an additional $15 off every $50 you spend – Including markdowns – with code BONUS!

Shorts/Jeans: It’s so hard to find good shorts, isn’t it? I wear my white jean shorts, which are similar to these Kut from the Cloth Catherine Denim Boyfriend Shorts, constantly. The Limited’s 10″ Walking Shorts are a new favorite (use the code above to save). There aren’t many sizes available in the coral color right now, but these Caslon Clean-Front 9″ Shorts (with tons of colors options) are a great alternative. Plus, they’re on sale for under $30! White jeans are a summer must, and the cut of Loft’s Modern Skinny Jeans is perfect. I also like Old Navy Midrise Rockstar Jeans, but sizes are really limited right now.

Dresses + Cardigan: When it gets really hot, a dress is the best option. Carry a cardi to ward off chilly air-conditioning (J. Crew’s Jackie Cardigan is my fave). This Old Navy Printed Crossover Dress is super flattering on, and mine will get lots of use this summer. Loft’s Pleated V-Neck Dress (40% off right now) is a staple for me, and I’m hoping to pick up a few other colors. My striped dress is on constant rotation. Loft’s Variegated Stripe Tie Back Dress (also 40% off) is similar to the one I have. Add a brown leather belt for an extra polished look.

Sandals: I have a ton of sandals, but three pairs get worn the most. My gold sandals – similar to Rebels’ Robyn – are a dressed up version of flip flops that go with everything. I’m a total sucker for a pair of espadrilles, especially if they have a comfortable wedge heel,  like Lucky Brand’s Kyndra. Wear them to work or the beach! My absolute favorite though are these Sam Edelman Gigi Sandals. It’s like walking barefoot, although be advised they don’t have tons of arch support.

Sunglasses: I think it’s worth investing in a few good pairs of sunglasses, just be prepared to take extra care of them (i.e., don’t sit on them!). These Kate Spade Madina sunglasses have a classic tortoise shell pattern that I’ll wear for years. Aviators will never go out of style. I have a pair similar to these Marc by Marc Jacobs Aviators, and the white accent is a fun touch. And I’m kind of obsessed with my Ray-Ban Classic Wayfarer XL’s! They’re just like regular Wayfarers, but oversized and super flattering.

Jewelry: I like to keep my jewelry minimal for summer. Most days you’ll find me in a pair of square gold hoops. They belonged to my mother, and the square shape is really unique. These Melissa Joy Manning Square Hoop Earrings are the closest I’ve found. If it’s not too hot, I’ll add a statement necklace or a long pendant.

What is your summer uniform? Do you have one?
