Khoudia Diop is a 19-year old Senegalese girl who has incredibly dark skin color, which caused a lot of problems for her in the past. Khoudia was once bullied for her skin color, but now she has taken the world by storm by becoming a model. Here’s what the self-proclaimed “Melanin Goddess” says for herself:
“I was teased a lot growing up, because of my skin tone,” says Khoudia, who lives in Paris. “And now even online sometimes, people will make comments. Growing up, I faced it by confronting the bullies. As I grew, I learned to love myself more every day, and not pay attention to the negative people.” After these difficult times, Khoudia won over the internet with her beautiful pictures. She has been modeling since she was 17, and is a role model for people dealing with similar problems. “If you’re lucky enough to be different, don’t ever change,” she says.
