Being overweight might be one of the reasons for acute back pain, as too much pressure falls on your back to carry your weight. It is thus very important to reduce excess body weight to get rid of back pain. Exercise everyday for at least half an hour. Practice jogging, swimming, cycling and other free hand exercises as these are very effective to reduce the excess weight.



Along with exercise follow a healthy diet. Avoid fatty and oily food and include plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet. This would reduce your excess weight and help to get rid of back pain permanently.

Apply Ice Pack

Applying ice pack in your sore back is a very simple and effective remedy to get rid of back pain. Ice packs reduce the pain and inflammation and ease the discomfort to a great extent. Cover your back with a thin cotton cloth. Then put ice cubes in a plastic bag and apply it on your back.

Leave the ice pack for about 15 – 20 minutes then remove it. Then after half an hour place it back again. Keep on repeating this process throughout the day to get rid of the back pain completely.

Massage Your Back

Tell your family member to massage your back gently as this is a very effective home remedy to get rid of back pain. Lie face down on a bed and tell your masseur to knead your back muscles gently. This massage would improve the blood circulation and provide you immense relief from the acute back pain.

Eat Ginger

Ginger is also another very effective remedy to get rid of back pain. Ginger contains anti-inflammatory compounds with mild aspirin-like effects that help to sooth back pain. Cut about 2 inches of fresh ginger root into slices and put it in a bowl of boiling water.

Simmer the flame and boil the ginger roots for about half an hour. Then leave it for some time to become cool. Strain the solution and add a teaspoon of honey to it and drink it slowly. This relaxes the back muscles and helps to get rid of the back pain easily.
