AARP and LivePitch Media today announced the expert judges for the third AARP Health Innovation @50+ LivePitch – http://health50.org – taking place May 9, 2014 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. This premier showcase features the most innovative up and coming health technology companies focused on “50-and-over” consumers. AARP LivePitch is powerful because not only does it give #startups face-to-face access to venture capitalists and angel investors, but the startups also engage with thousands of AARP consumers who will be in attendance as well.

AARP Health Innovation LivePitch and the Health Innovation@50+ Tech Expo (May 8-9-10) are a part of the associated AARP Spring 2014 Life@50+ National Event & Expo which is attended 15,000 AARP members and guests from across the U.S. and the globe. This power combination of investor reach and consumer engagement gives AARP Health Innovation LivePitch startup finalists a qualified edge as they grow their companies.

This year’s judges include prominent venture capitalists and industry experts:

- Shirley Bergin, Partner, COO/CMO, TEDMED

- Peter Grua, Partner, HLM Venture Partners

- Mohanjit Jolly, Managing Director, Draper Fisher Jurvetson

- Euan S. Thomson, Operating Partner, Khosla Ventures

- Krishna Yeshwant, General Partner, Google Ventures

Ten LivePitch finalists and five Speed Pitch finalists – selected from 193 startup applicants – will individually take the stage on May 9th and present not only to the judges but also to our audience venture capital and angel investors and AARP consumers. Each company will pitch their product or service. The judges will question each company on its business, product, revenue and more. The investors will review and analyze. And AARP consumers will vote for which company they feel is most likely to succeed. The companies will also showcase their products to consumers at the AARP Health Innovation@50+ Tech Expo on May 8, 9 and 10th.

At the end of the day three winners will be announced: a Judges’ LivePitch Winner, a AARP Consumers’ LivePitch Winner, and a Speed Pitch Winner.
