Tomorrow evening at 8:30, The Kitchen @ The Museum in Galway (not the beloved circa 2011 Dublin nightclub) will host the June Over the Edge Writer’s Gathering. The event will feature readings by Niamh Boyce, Paul Duffy and William Wall.
The Ó Bhéal will be gathering in the Long Valley Pub on Monday evening for some live poetry.
News
Oleh Shynkarenko’s Kaharlyk, a novel originally serialised in Facebook post in order to avoid censors during the Maidan Square protests in Kiev. In the novel, Ukraine has been conquered by the Russian Army who also have control over the brain of the main character. The Novel will be translated by Steve Komarnyckyj.

Hogges and Figgis have hosted their own literary European Finals, with each competing nation at Euro 2016 represented by a writer. Anne Enright was selected to pull on the green jersey. The Lit Review is cognisant of the fact that this a strategy to sell books.
Literary magazine Berfrois have published a collection of poetry written in support of an embattled British politician. Poets for Corbyn is available as an Ebook from Berfrois’ website, range of different PDF covers on offer. The collection features poetry from Helen Ivory, Ian Birchall and Marion McCready.
Situations
The Wasafiri New Writing Prize is open to submissions until the 15th of July, with submissions in Fiction, Poetry and Life Writing in contention for a £300 cash prize and publication. Entry forms can be downloaded from the Wasafiri website.
3AM Magazine are cataloging the thoughts and opinions of writers, translators, publishers and booksellers with regards Brexit. All thoughts and opinions, or expressions of interest in expressing them tweeted to Joanna Walsh (@baudade).
The Runt Zine will be accepting art, poetry and stories until 5th of August, for their tenth issue. The theme, as chosen by followers of The Runt on Twitter, is Madness. Prospective submitters are encouraged to see theme as “inspiration, not a restriction.”
