HeadStart Nursery Wins Top Phuket Award!
On the 27th of August, the Phuket governor, Maitri Intisut formally awarded the HeadStart Nursery as one of only 4 nurseries in Phuket to receive the “Outstanding Nursery” award for 2014. There are currently 29 Nurseries registered in Phuket under the Phuket Office of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. The three other nurseries receiving the award were Ban Dek Dee Nursery, Suan Luang Nursery, Ban Look Ruk Nursery. This makes HeadStart the only international school in Phuket to have received the award this year.

Introducing Mr. Drew, Director of Studies
I’d like to take the opportunity to introduce myself as Director of Studies at HeadStart International School, a post that I recently began just a few weeks ago. I genuinely believe that the next few years at Headstart will be both exciting and rewarding, building on the firm foundations which have already been laid down. With the move to a new state of the art campus for the 2015 – 2016 academic year I strongly believe that HeadStart International School is well on the way to becoming one of the best schools on the island, providing the highest standards in teaching and learning. I am looking forward to meeting and talking to as many parents, students and stakeholders as I can in the coming weeks and months to discuss how we can achieve this goal and really inspire the ‘love of learning’ that underpins the schools values.

After school pick up for Foundation and Primary
Students in Foundation up to Year 2 should be picked up from their classroom at 14:45.
Students in Years 3 – 6 will go to the outside pick-up area at 15:00 or straight to the primary lunch room if they go home on the school bus or if they are in an after school programme. Please don’t ask your children to wait for you at the playground, the Cafe or the football pitch, since these areas aren’t supervised after school. If you know that you will be late picking up your child, ask him/her to go straight to the primary lunch room, they then don’t need to go to the outside waiting area.
The Library is Open! Feel free to come to the library, meet the Librarian and check out a book. Our official hours are 7:30am – 3:30pm. However, the Librarian often arrives early and stays late, so if the lights are on feel free to stop in for a chat.

Welcome Message from the Head of Foundation and Primary
Dear parents,
Welcome back to a fantastic new school year! We had a great start of the year and all teachers and students seemed to be very happy to be back at school. Being a parent myself, I know that some of you will also be glad that the school year has started again.
After being the Head of Primary for three years now, I have also taken on the Head of Foundation position this academic year. I am looking forward to this new challenge and I hope to get to know you, as parents, as soon as possible. For those of you that joined the parent orientation last Friday, know that we have strengthened our management team throughout the school. I am therefore very pleased and honoured to be able to introduce you to my new Deputy Head of Foundation and Primary, Mr Andrew Whittaker. Mr Andrew will take on the role of pastoral care, so any concerns you might have related to your child’s well being can be addressed to Mr Andrew. Both of us work closely together so don’t hesitate to address either one of us when you see us around the school.
Your child’s homeroom teacher will be in touch with you regularly, either through email or by addressing you in person. They are the ones who spend whole days with your children so don’t hesitate to ask them questions or ask for help. It would be a great help for your child’s homeroom teacher to get to know you in person, if you haven’t done so, please go and introduce yourself.
We are all looking forward to another exciting year full with educational and fun activities!

Welcome Message from the Head of Secondary
Dear Parents,
Another exciting year of academic excellence is upon us.
As you know, this will be our last year at this campus and we will move into our new, state-of-the-art new campus in 12 months time.
We will work hard this year to ensure that we build on and improve on, the spectacular results from last year.
Joining our team in Secondary is Mr Paul Kennedy who is Deputy Head of Secondary. Mr Kennedy brings with him a wealth of experience from working in schools in the UK.
As well as helping and supporting me in running the Secondary School, Mr Kennedy will be in charge of Pastoral Care for all secondary students.
We warmly welcome Mr Kennedy into the HeadStart family.

เมื่อวันที่ 27 สิงหาคม นี้ นายไมตรี อินทุสุต ท่านผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดภูเก็ต ได้มอบรางวัล ให้กับ “HeadStart Nursery” ในฐานะที่เป็น 1 ใน 4 สถานเตรียมอนุบาล ดีเด่นในภูเก็ต ประจำปี 2557 ซึ่งปัจจุบันนี้ มีสถานเตรียมอนุบาล จำนวนทั้งหมด 29 แห่งที่ได้จดทะเบียนไว้กับกระทรวงการพัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์จังหวัดภูเก็ต สถานเตรียมอนุบาลที่ได้รับรางวัลดีเด่น อีก 3 แห่งคือ บ้านเด็กดี, สวนหลวง, บ้านลูกรัก นี่ก็แสดงให้เห็นว่า เฮดสตาร์ท เป็นโรงเรียนนานาชาติแห่งเดียวในจังหวัดภูเก็ต ที่ได้รับรางวัลดีเด่นในปีนี้

การมารับนักเรียนอนุบาลและชั้นประถม หลังโรงเรียนเลิก
เด็กนักเรียนชั้นอนุบาลถึงชั้นประถม 2 นั้น ท่านผู้ปกครองจะต้องมารับเด็กที่ห้องเรียนภายในเวลา 14.45น.
นักเรียนชั้นประถม 3 – 6 จะออกไปนั่งรอที่บริเวณทางออกด้านนอก เวลา 15:00 น. ส่วนนักเรียนที่จะนั่งรถโรงเรียนกลับบ้านและนักเรียนที่จะเรียนต่อหลังเลิกเรียนก็จะไปรอที่ห้องอาหารกลางวันเท่านั้น ขอความกรุณาท่านผู้ปกครอง โปรดอย่าได้บอกให้บุตรหลานของท่านไปรอท่านที่ สนามเด็กเล่น, ร้าน Café หรือสนามฟุตบอล เนื่องจากไม่มีครูคอยเฝ้าดูแลในสถานที่ดังกล่าวเหล่านี้ หากว่าท่านรู้ว่าจะมารับสาย โปรดบอกให้เด็กไปรอท่านที่ห้องอาหารกลางวัน ไม่ต้องไปรอที่ทางออกด้านนอก

ขอต้อนรับเข้าสู่ปีการศึกษาใหม่ที่เยี่ยมยอด ! เราเริ่มต้นได้สวย ทั้งครูและนักเรียนทุกๆคนดูมีความสุขมาก ดิฉันเองก็มีลูก จึงเข้าใจความรู้สึกของคนเป็นพ่อแม่ได้ดีว่า บางท่านก็คงดีใจที่โรงเรียนเปิดเทอมแล้ว หลังจากที่ดิฉันทำหน้าที่หัวหน้าแผนกประถมฯมาได้ 3 ปีแล้ว ในปีการศึกษานี้ดิฉันจะดูแลแผนกอนุบาลด้วย พร้อมแล้วสำหรับงานใหม่ที่ท้าทายนี้และหวังว่าจะได้มีโอกาสพบปะทำความรู้จักกับท่านผู้ปกครองทุกๆท่านโดยเร็ว สำหรับท่านที่ได้เข้าร่วมปฐมนิเทศ เมื่อวันศุกร์ที่ผ่านมา ย่อมได้ทราบแล้วว่าโรงเรียนได้เพิ่มเติมทีมผู้บริหารในทุกๆแผนก ดังนั้นดิฉันจึงภูมิใจที่จะแนะนำให้ท่านได้รู้จักกับครู Andrew Whittaker ซึ่งเป็นรองหัวหน้าแผนกอนุบาลและประถมฯ เป็นผู้ช่วยคนใหม่ของดิฉัน จะดูแลสุขทุกข์ความเป็นอยู่ของนักเรียน ท่านปรึกษาได้โดยตรงถ้าเรื่องที่ท่านกังวล ไม่ว่าจะเจอดิฉันหรือครูแอนดรู ท่านก็บอกใครก็ได้เพราะเราทั้งสองประสานงานกันตลอด ทางด้านครูประจำชั้นก็จะมีการติดต่อกับท่านอย่างสม่ำเสมอ ไม่ว่าจะทางอีเมล์หรือพูดคุยกับท่านโดยตรง หากมีอะไรก็บอกครูประจำชั้นได้เพราะเค้าคือคนที่อยู่กับบุตรหลานของท่านตลอดทั้งวัน มันเป็นการดีมากที่ท่านควรจะได้พบปะทำความรู้จักกับครูประจำชั้นไว้ หากท่านยังไม่ได้พบครู ก็รีบไปพบและแนะนำตนไว้ค่ะ พวกเราทุกๆคนพร้อมแล้วสำหรับอีก 1 ปีแห่งการเรียนการสอนที่เต็มไปด้วยเนื้อหาความรู้และกิจกรรมที่สนุกสนาน

อีกหนึ่งปีแห่งการศึกษาที่เยี่ยมยอดกำลังรอเราอยู่
ตามที่ท่านทราบกันแล้วว่า นี้เป็นปีการศึกษาสุดท้ายแล้วสำหรับสถานที่ตรงนี้ ในอีก12 เดือนข้างหน้า พวกเราจะย้ายไปอยู่ที่แห่งใหม่ที่สร้างแบบอลังการ จากผลงานที่เยี่ยมมากของปีการศึกษาที่ผ่านมา พวกเราทุกๆคนจะทุ่มเทอย่างเต็มที่ ให้แน่ใจว่าเราจะตั้งใจทำให้ดีและดียิ่งๆขึ้นไปอีก
ขอแนะนำให้ท่านได้รู้จักกับครู Paul Kennedy ท่านเป็นรองหัวหน้าแผนกมัธยมฯคนใหม่ ครูพอล พกพาความรู้ความสามารถจากประสบการณ์การสอนที่โรงเรียนในประเทศอังกฤษ มาช่วยงานฝ่ายมัธยมฯ เป็นผู้ช่วยคนใหม่ของผม และจะคอยดูแลสารทุกข์สุขดิบ ของนักเรียนมัธยมฯทุกๆคน พวกเรายินดีเป็นอย่างยิ่งที่ได้ครูพอล มาร่วมงานด้วย

อายุ 13-15 ว่ายน้ำ 400ม. / วิ่ง 4 กม.
อายุ 16-65* ว่ายน้ำ 500ม. / วิ่ง 5 กม.
