NAB Show, the world’s largest annual conference and expo for professionals who create, manage, and distribute entertainment across all platforms, is bringing back last year’s highest-rated session – NewTek Presents: Broadcast Minds. This year’s session, moderated by actor, comedian and host Tom Green on April 9 in Las Vegas, will take a deep and entertaining look at how some of the top creators of digital content are forging new trails and drawing a profit online.
Attendees will hear from some of the brightest minds in digital broadcasting: Tom Green, actor, comedian and host of “Tom Green’s House Tonight”; Criss Angel, the illusionist, producer, director and performance artist behind A&E’s “MINDFREAK”; Rob Barnett, founder and CEO of My Damn Channel and home of recently announced “Videocracy”; and Cali Lewis, Host of GeekBeat TV.
Each speaker will guide the audience through their various approaches to creating top-notch, high quality programming built to live online. Additionally, attendees will walk away with first-hand knowledge of how these creators build, sustain and grow their audiences while effectively monetizing their projects. Rob Barnett is founder and CEO of My Damn Channel, an entertainment studio and distributor of premium content. Since 2007, Barnett’s team has built MyDamnChannel.com into a successful TV network where established and emerging talent from film, TV, the Internet, fans and advertisers create original programming. Barnett has created content with hundreds of diverse communicators including Bill Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, the Rolling Stones, Jimmy Kimmel, Adam Carolla and Johnny Rotten. He was president of programming for CBS Radio and a senior production and programming executive at MTV and VH1 for over 11 years.
Tom Green is perhaps best known for his unpredictable personality on MTV and his eclectic roles in films including “Road Trip” and “Freddy Got Fingered.” He has graced the cover of Rolling Stone, commandeered the coveted guest host chair on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” and conquered the World Wide Web with his popular Internet talk show, “Tom Green’s House Tonight.” Green brings his unique brand of hilarity to the art of stand-up comedy in his one-hour special, taped in 2012 at Boston’s Wilbur Theater and currently airing on Showtime. Cali Lewis has become a household name in the tech industry. Her podcasts have been viewed hundreds of millions of times over the last eight years.
