Bimal Das is the Joint President for Distribution business. Bimal leads the Enterprise & IT Products Distribution business and is responsible for expanding our enterprise partner base, take niche enterprise products to market and also grow the cloud distribution portfolio by partnering with leading Cloud Service Providers. Bimal is spearheading our efforts towards becoming a leading value added distributor in India, and plays a pivotal role in building new channel and partner eco systems which is a key part of our growth strategy as enterprise products distribution business garners warranty and AMC services that come along with our alliances and enable growth in our services business.
Bimal is a versatile professional who has over 25 years of rich and diverse experience in building and managing businesses. Prior to HCL, Bimal was the Managing Director of PT. Ingram Micro, Indonesia and has also held key positions within the same organization. Bimal's key achievements among many include building strong teams including leadership teams to build businesses, setting up the Indonesian operation of Ingram Micro and making it successful. Bimal has also worked for Tulip India Limited, Hindustan Lever Limited and Usha Rectifier Corporation Limited. Bimal's diverse experience across industries further strengthens HCL’s distribution.
An MBA from FMS Delhi and Masters in Physics from Ravenshaw College, Orissa, Bimal was born and raised in Orissa. His wife is a homemaker and an MBA graduate. He is blessed with two daughters aged 15 & 12. Bimal is a sports enthusiast & a travel buff. He plays club cricket & badminton.
