Porta, the modern European restaurant at Park Hotel Clark Quay has taken over the space of Brizo sometime back. The restaurant offers modern european cuisines with an affordable pricing. This includes the set lunch menu ranging from S$18.00++ (2-course set lunch) to S$22.00++ ( 3-course set lunch). I was invited to check out some of the dishes offered in the set lunch menu sometime back.
So continue to read on the dishes that I tried:
Chilled Angel Hair Pasta
The pasta is available in their set lunch menu. The pasta served with avruga caviar and kombu seawood and drizzled with truffle oil. The pasta texture is thicker as compared with the angel hair pasta I tried in Saveur.
Spanish Octopus $18.00++
The grilled octopus is from Ria de Arousa in Galicia, Spain has the smoky flavour and it is served with patatas bravas (classic native Spanish tapas).
Foie Gras S$24.00++
A lovely presentation by the chef with candied almonds sprinkled on top of the foie gras to give the crunchy bites. The duck liver has the right amount of fats that I can easily finish it off without feeling guilty.
Ravioles de Royans S$22.0++
The ravioli is a classic French take on traditional Italian cuisine. This dish combines two types of cheeses in it that gives a creamy texture.
Iberian Pork Secreto S$26.00++
The pork is sous-vide for four hours before roasting it. Thus, this explains the juiciness and the tender texture of the meat. This is definitely the highlight dish of the night.
Porta Burger S$23.00++
Angus beef patty and pieces of bacons sandwiched between two toasted brioche buns served with fries and a bottle of Alain Milliat premium ketchup.
Coconut Blancmange S$12.00++
The delicate and sweet custard dessert with crispy candied almond for the crunch seems to be crowd pleaser that night. It is indeed an interesting dessert to begin with.
Valrhona Chocolate Lava Cake S$14.00++
The new modern European restaurant provides quite a selection of dishes. The restaurant offers casual dining ambience where hotel guests and diners get to enjoy savoury european dishes without burning a hole in the pocket. And the best part is that the set lunch deal is a good steal!
