FINNEY COUNTY- Law enforcement authorities in Finney County are investigating a suspect after on drug charges after an accident.
Just after 3:30p.m. on Tuesday, officers of the Garden City Police Department were sent to the area of Main and Mary for a reported injury rollover accident, according to a media releases.
A 2005 Jeep Cherokee driven by Maricela Vargas, 23, Littleton, CO., was eastbound on Mary Street when she failed to yield and attempted to turn south onto Main Street.
The driver turned in front of a 2015 Toyota Camry driven by Myint Than, 38, Garden City, which westbound on Mary Street.
The collision caused the Jeep to roll. Vargas was trapped in the vehicle and Garden City Fire Rescue had to extricated her.
She was transported to St Catherine Hospital
Than was treated on scene for minor injuries.
Signs of possible impairment were observed on Vargas as she was being extricated from her vehicle and she was not wearing a seatbelt, according to police.
Vargas was cited and released on the following charges:
Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, Driving While License Suspended, Failure to Yield the Right of Way, Seatbelt Violation and No Proof of Insurance.
