EL DORADO – A Kansas man died in an accident just after 9:30p.m. on Saturday in Butler County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Lexus passenger car was traveling at a high rate of speed at 4th and Boyer just north of Kansas 254 in El Dorado.
The driver failed to negotiate a curve and the vehicle left the roadway, struck a light pole and rolled numerous times, ejecting both the driver and the passenger.
Derrick L. Plummer, 32, El Dorado, was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Carlson Funeral Home.
James W. Pickett, 32, El Dorado, was transported to Wesley Medical Center.
The KHP could not determine who was driving the vehicle. They were not wearing seat belts.
