How does the weekend always seem to fly by so quick? Was able to get away for a little bit this weekend, so that I can start fresh this week. Hope this week’s winners get you motivated to start this week strong – so here they are! In case you’re new to our Room Design Rock Star posts, I’m Shannon Ino, California native and Havenly intern! Every week, I select our top 3 spaces or renderings that exhibit great style and creativity. We tend to draw from 4 primary sources: Polyvore, HGTV’s Rate My Space, Houzz, and Project Decor. Here are my favorite picks for this week’s Room Design Rock Star Awards:
Rock Star Award #1: Joanna Hartman of CG&S Design-Build created this contemporary kitchen in Austin, TX – Light, Bright & Airy. This has to be one of my favorite kitchens, in one of my favorite cities. The backsplash is actually painted glass and the cabinetry is made of knotty alder. Need to find a way to get ahold of those orange chairs though.

Rock Star Award #2: Bates Mazi + Architects LLC designed this Midcentury exterior in New York – Robins Way. Another outdoor space makes the cut this week. The interior of this house is just as good (if not better) than the exterior. What’s shown below is only part of the gorgeous backyard – click here to see the rest of the landscape. My favorite part has to be the deck – I love a good deck where friends and family can gather for food/drinks (you just have to make sure that you take good care of it).

Rock Star Award #3: B. Jane Gardens created this farmhouse style landscape in Austin, TX – Wimberley Modern Farmhouse. Sorry, I think I might be on an outdoor space spree, but who wouldn’t want this fire pit in their backyard? I do love a good farmhouse inspired space. This backyard could even make for a perfect wedding venue (a small one of course) – don’t you agree?
