The Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department Board of Health will hold its quarterly meeting starting at 5:30 P.M. on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at 215 North Pearl Street, Wayne, NE 68787. Minutes
September 27, 2016
The Cedar County Commissioners met in the Boardroom of the Cedar County Courthouse at 8:30 am and the meeting was called to order as advertised, with Jerry Wiese, David McGregor and Terry Pinkelman answering roll call. Also present County Clerk David Dowling. Chairman McGregor stated the open meetings laws are posted on the wall for public inspection.
Motion was made by Wiese and seconded by Pinkelman to approve the agenda. Motion carried with a 3 to 0 vote. Motion was made by Pinkelman and seconded by Wiese to approve the minutes from the last meeting. Motion carried with a 3 to 0 vote.
Road Supt., Carla Schmidt told commissioners that the state is having a signing and engineering study course for and who-ever the board would like to send. Discussion was held on minimum maintenance roads and upgrading the roads when structures are built and maintenance on certain minimum maintenance roads regarding grading and graveling. Carla stated that our engineer will be here at her office at 2:30 to discuss bridge projects to get ready for federal funds if they come available.
Zoning Administrator, Dave Sudbeck reported on the zoning board of adjustments meeting that was held and stated that the meeting went very well and he has not heard anything yet from the meeting.
Northeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership, represented by Nikki Pierce, Peggy Mlady and, Camie Pilger met to discuss their services. The organization employs 150 people in 14 counties in the Northeast District. Nikki give the board a brief overview on what the organization all does. Camie then explained the Commodity Supplemental Food Program and asked for assistance to administer the commodities. The board agreed to provide a location and asked the group to contact them when they are ready to start the service.
Kevin Garvin met to discuss the recent workshop and also talked about the placement of a tower at the Wynot fire hall. Garvin stated they are waiting on 4 Indian tribes to reply on the approval of the location.
Commissioner McGregor reported on recent Health Board meeting and stated a new administrator was appointed because of the retirement of Deb Shelton. The new person is Julie Rother and was appointed by the board. McGregor stated she had been working in the office for years.
With no further business or agenda items the meeting was declared adjourned by chairman McGregor.
