*Voldemort is similar to James Bond villain Dr No, as well as his backstory. He is a member of international conspiracy SPECTRE, who seeks world domination through shadowy means. Dr No had been born in China to a Chinese mother and a German father. Like Merope Gaunt, Dr No's mother died at a very young age. His father refused to care for him when it was revealed he had a wife and kids back in Germany, and the boy was left to fend for himself. In a blood purity comparison, a younger Dr No fell in with the Tongs, a noted Chinese gang who is mistrusting of anyone not full-blooded Chinese. After embezzling large amounts of money from the Tongs, Dr No changed his appearance and name (although to save himself from another near-death experience when the Tongs barely failed at murdering him by a brutal beating), to include making himself bald, like Voldemort's later appearance. Like Voldemort, Dr No is educated, in this case using some of the ill-gotten money to go to school in Europe, where he became a doctor. However, unlike Voldemort, Dr No's new name was meant to remind himself always of his father, whereas Tom Riddle wished not to be named after his father: "I changed my name to Julius No; Julius after my father, No for the fact he refused to care for me after my mother died". Another difference is that Voldemort was the absolute leader of the Death Eaters, while Dr No, while a high-ranking official in SPECTRE, was not the absolute leader of SPECTRE. Also compared to Bond is Ralph Fiennes, one of the Voldemort actors, is currently M, 007's superior officer.

**He also had several similarities to Franz Oberhauser, aka, Ernst Stavro Blofeld, from the film SPECTRE. Both characters led an evil group bent on world domination (SPECTRE in the case of Blofeld, the Death Eaters in the case of Voldemort), both adopted the names they became more infamously known as due to their hatred of their parents and rejecting them ("Lord Voldemort" was adopted by Tom Marvolo Riddle to cut ties to his father, Tom Riddle, and Ernst Stavro Blofeld was adopted by Franz Oberhauser to disassociate himself from his father out of spite regarding his ties). Both also murdered their fathers out of spite. Both also had a personal vendetta against the heroes (Voldemort targeted Harry Potter due to identifying him as half-blood and thus realising he could be a threat to his plans, and later ended up connected due to Lily Potter sacrificing herself and Voldemort unwittingly making Harry into one of his horcruxes. Blofeld, likewise, was the adopted brother of James Bond, and likewise hated him due to jealousy regarding his receiving more attention by his father).

**Although Voldemort predated the creation of the character by roughly two decades, he also shared similar characteristics to the Metal Gear series villain Skull Face. Both shared similar physical features to each other (namely, looking less than human to the extent that they look gaunt
and have their nose missing due to events in their past
: In Voldemort's case, it was the result of splitting his soul into eight, while in the case of Skull Face, it is heavily implied that his deformities were the result of the factory burning down and rapeseed oil burning off most of his flesh during World War II). In terms of personality, both characters were also vengeful psychopaths who wanted revenge against the main protagonist, as well as having a connection to the protagonist (Skull Face wanted revenge on Big Boss because he himself had been forced to lurk in the shadows while Big Boss got the credit for Operation Snake Eater while Skull Face did "clean up" duty, and Voldemort wanted revenge against Harry Potter for his defeat and connected with him due to their both being half-bloods). In addition, both also led a massive evil military group with world domination plans (Voldemort had the Death Eaters, and Skull Face had XOF), and both also had particularly ghastly intentions with the world (Voldemort intended to commit genocide against any muggle-borns or anyone who was not a pure-blood, while Skull Face wanted to wipe out every single language in the world, eventually including English, and then replacing it with nukes that he could disarm at will). Both also were indirectly responsible for supplying their former mentor with a lethal ailment that would ultimately lead to their death at another's hands via a treasured memento (Voldemort turned Marvolo Gaunt's Ring into a horcrux and also inflicted a curse on said ring that, upon Dumbledore finding it and using the stone to see his family again, would wither his hand and ultimately forced both him and Severus Snape to enact a plan where, under the pretence of Snape aiding Draco in killing Dumbledore on Voldemort's orders, Snape would essentially mercy-kill Dumbledore via the Avada Kedavra, while Skull Face would give his former commander, Major Zero, a lapel pin belonging to a member of Layforce that both he and The Boss knew from World War II who had died during a battle in Egypt, or rather, a copy of the original that was laced with a parasite that did debilitating damage to Zero, enough that he ultimately went into a prolonged vegetable state as a result, and he was ultimately killed several decades later by Big Boss shutting down his life support system). Ironically, Voldemort had a pathological fear of death, while Skull Face in his final moments actually begged his captors to kill him.

*Voldemort is similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Johann Schmidt aka the Red Skull. Both disfigured their appearances in their quest for power and were a part of groups with racist beliefs. Like Voldemort, the Red Skull also had a servant who lacked nerve and served them out of fear (Peter Pettigrew for Voldemort and Arnim Zola for the Red Skull) but said servant's efforts were essential to their respective rise or in Voldemort's case return to power. Like Voldemort, Red Skull was also indirectly responsible for his nemesis, Captain America's creation (in his case, the failure of the superserum convinced Dr Erskine to find a test subject who had a pure heart, which he eventually found in Steve Rogers, and Red Skull's orchestration of Erskine's murder is ultimately what led to Captain America to fight HYDRA). Both characters also initially looked normal until certain circumstances significantly deformed them (in Voldemort's case, it was the result of splitting his soul into seven pieces, and in Red Skull's case, it was heavily implied that the prototype superserum, combined with his inner evil traits, resulted in his face being significantly burned to the extent that he had a crimson face resembling a skull). But the difference is that the Red Skull unlike Voldemort did not really believe in racial superiority and did not lead his group he merely led Hydra which in the the MCU version was a division of the Nazi Party's SS until the Red Skull broke away from the Nazi Party to independently pursue his own goals of conquest.

*Voldemort has some similar qualities of Sauron in The Lord of the Rings. Both of them were great threats to their world before suffering a crippling defeat, but eventually regained enough strength to become a threat to their world. They both carried the title of Dark Lord. They were also described at times of being capable of manipulating others without the resorting to threats or intimidations, displaying a charming persona. And they both had physical objects that held a part of them that was dependent on their survival and eventual return (Voldemort's Horcruxes; Sauron's One Ring).
